I have 4 x JL Audio c2 650x speakers in sound deadened doors. Powered by a JL audio xd400 amp, 4 x 100wrms. They sound absolutely awesome. Crisp and clear with very good beat of bass. I was beyond impressed as was the installer.

These speakers span the low cost segment car speakers. I have been installing speakers since 1989. If you choose to go w rock bottom cost speaker then Boss is the speaker to get. It will last and run perfectly well off the factory head unit of most cars. Its main advantage is the tweeter will not blow as quickly as many of these other junkers will. Many of the others will blow tweets if they accept the wrong frequencies at loud volumes. If someone has no money and no cross over I install the Boss cheapos.. They are actually pretty well built for cheap speaker. Boss also makes the best rock bottom cost 2 channel amp. On this list the best speaker is the pioneer Pioneer TS-A1675R 6.5". It costs like 15 dollars more than the extreme 3 way cheapos but can be set up to sound pretty good. In contrast the cheap fosgates have a sound that I do not care for. I have not listened to that iteration of JVC so I cant comment. The current pioneer line offers very good options in the under 200 dollar range. They posess good durability as well as having Best sounding low frequencies. With higher cost speakers and those that can operate using external amplifiers there are many options that cannot be found on this list. The best depends will depend on many factors such as the car itself, the amp, The best low cost speaker if you are running amps are infinities. Good sound and relatively durable, holding up better for some reason than JBL. In contrast, entry level focals sound very nice even at low volume, but low frequencies are sorely lacking..

6.5 speakers are not supposed to go low frequency.....They are for mid bass somewhere between 120hz to 2500hz...( Fs on most good 6.5 inch speakers is around 60hz and crossed over at around 120hz = 1 octave ). Unless the 6.5 is built with a heavy ferite magnet, at minimal a 2 inch voice coil, a rigid speaker cap, strong motor, rigid cone material, a large XMAX, and a big surround...They ain't going low at this price point in the video...

These are junk speakers we are talking about. Most people buying are not going to power them with aftermarket amps so any xmax concerns are not really issues. If buyers are willing to pay more and provide modest power then they should purchase pioneer or JL audio. Not the entry level stuff but TS-Z65F range equipment. They are durable and can be installed to play as nice as other more costly equipment from the more sexy names in car audio. Both pioneer and JL audio deliver good bottom end from the 6.5s. @@petedetraglia4776

Which speakers do you recommend?

I can't decide between these two speakers, I would take either the Alpine S2 S65C or the JBL GTO 609C for the car door. Of course, it would be connected to a Hifonix amplifier with a power of 4x135Watt/RMS with 4 Ohm OR 4x225Watt/RMS with 2 Ohm. Then I would need 4" speakers for the dashboard, which I would have to choose from is the Alpine S S40 (S2 S40) or the JBL Club4020, because I can't get anything else from JBL here in Europe. Now it's important that the speakers don't have that pounchi bass but that deep soft bass and the tweeters are not that important because those prominent trebles are really annoying to me and the middle tone is more important to me.I now have Hertz DSK170.3 speakers in my door and I'm not happy with them at all the bass is totally bad that strange pouncy bass, even though I have the doors insulated with Sound Deadener and foam specifically for car sound systems.
