Katherine S I have a friend who is a lot like Sherlock and today we were talking and he just in a rushed tone asked me to be quiet I immediately shut up and waited a few seconds. I then asked in a whisper “what’s going one why do I need to be quiet?” We were talking over the phone btw so for all I knew he was getting robbed or something. Then he calmly replied “no reason I just wanted you to stop.

I discovered him with Sherlock ; first impression : "what a weird face!!" ...10 minutes later, i was Hypnotised by him!! His presence, his voice are incredible !!!

Not many people talk about Patrick Melrose. His acting was SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD. Made me cry almost every episode

Hey, don’t know if you’re still interested in seeing him in Frankenstein but the KZread channel -National theatre- has the full version on right now and this until Thursday evening, with Benedict starring as the creature. On Friday you can watch Benedict’s performance as Frankenstein himself. Hope this helps you out!

I absolutely love his voice. I think it's one of the main things, why are his performances so incredible. And the reason, why I always watch Sherlock in original. My sister watched it with dabing and I was just: "How can you???!!!" (the same I feel about Christopher Lee, another great voice and the best for Saruman).

However, I personally, would put the imitation game 1st, simply because although sherlock is a cooler performance, the imitation game and his performance had emotion. Raw, undefined emotion. One of the only two movies to make me cry.

My Top Ten: 1) Alan Turing (The Imitation Game, the scene where he says "I don't want to be alone" and breaks down crying shatters my heart every damn time.) 2) Patrick Melrose (Patrick Melrose, one of Bennie's most intense roles and the funeral scene from the finale just... Wow!) 3) Khan (Star Trek Into Darkness, Bennie's best villain IMO.) 4) Smaug (The Hobbit trilogy, the motion capture alone sent chills down my spine.) 5) Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock, this is Bennie's signature role and for damn good reason. Despite its issues, The Final Problem contains some of his finest work on the show.) 6) Shere Khan (Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, proof that Disney were fucking stupid for not casting Bennie as Scar in the Lion King remake.) 7) James (Third Star, the scream when he falls during a hike still haunts my nightmares.) 8) Martin Creiff (Cabin Pressure, Bennie at his funniest.) 9) Peter (Tinker Tailor Solider Spy, the scene where Peter has to end things with his partner hurts.) 10) Islington (Neverwhere, one of the best transitions from sweetheart to sinister I think any actor has done.)

A very "versatile" actor, he impersonates many different characters so well, it's amazing. Recently I've watched Third Star and I've just finished Sherlock. He truly knows what he's doing 🌟

I love BBC's Sherlock, but for me, one of his best performances will always be The Imitation Game, especially towards the end, with Kiera Knightley, when he reveals the hormone treatment he's undergoing. That scene never fails to bring me to tears.

His acting process for Smaug was amazing. Deserved a way higher ranking.

Im here 4 years late having just seen Power of The Dog. He has honestly become on of my favorite actors ever. Im endlessly impressed and cant wait to see what he does next!

I don't know why but i really find him attractive. Every character he plays, he can bring out the main character charm no matter what. He just catches all the attention, even while acting with people like chris homesworth.

He also really killed it as Julian Assange in the fifth estate (even though the film itself didnt convince me, bis performance was outstanding, as usual), as James in third star and as Stephen Ezard in The last enemy (highly recommend!)

ABSOLUTELY!

I was introduced to Cumberbatch thanks to his hilarious performance in Penguins of Madagascar as Agent Classified. I agree that's not the best movie that he's done but he should do more animated stuff as he really has it..

It didn't make this list but 'Third Star' is my favorite film and my favorite Cumberbatch role ever. He plays the anger and desperation of a dying man impeccably. And Hugh Bonneville makes a really crazy cameo - LOVE IT!

I just finished binging on Sherlock and I just fell in love with the guy. The game is on!
