As someone who grew up a Royals fan and a fan of George Brett, in my mind the Pine Tar Incident had to be on this list. Glad to see that it was #1.

Michael Czerniewski it isn’t number 1 bc Brett had a legit gripe. That drunk Billy Martin probably sat on that rule for years. Just waiting and waiting, while hundreds of home runs gone by. To jerk off George, the drunk Billy Martin finally protested Brett’s HR. It was only a job saving move. Billy Martin knew he was a fucc up drunk. So why not save ONE GAME, out of 162 to save his bar tab..

Funny thing is, Brett was one of the nicest visiting players whenever the Royals played the Jays at Exhibition stadium. The memories I have of Brett chatting with me as a young Jays fan and signing autographs totally contrast his justified freak out, and he even joked about that with us.

The pitch to Manny that set this off wasn’t “throwing at him”. Yes Clemens is a shit bag but that pitch is a strike if it’s 18 inches lower and Manny didn’t exactly crowd the plate. The reality was Manny had the fear of god in him because he knew what Roger might do and he had to react to try and weasel his way out of the at-bat.

Oh Youppi!. My favorite mascot. The first to be thrown out of a game and the first to switch between leagues. Which makes him part of my 2 favorite sports. I'd probably love the Phillie Phanatic too if I didn't dislike the Phillies (sorry Philadelphia).

Couple interesting factoids: For #5, Bautista's slide into Odor was retaliation for being plunked by a pitch... which itself was revenge for the bat flip. For #1, the reason that pine tar was banned beyond a certain point on the bat was actually for the sake of keeping balls playable for longer, as pine tar would discolor the ball and render it unusable. Thus, when the Royals protested the game, AL president Lee MacPhail ruled that the spirit of the rule had not been violated, and that the game should be resumed from the point of the home run, which now counted. He *did* however hand out a few ejections, including one to Brett for his outburst. Just some things that might be interesting to know about these incidents.

I think the replays are helping the toss-anyone-who-disagrees situation that baseball umpires had for the longest time... but balls and strikes are still an issue AS WELL AS replay review itself. The Braves had a couple bad calls against them about a week ago and they lost the challenge on the first one, so they couldn't challenge the play at 3rd when Swanson stole and was CLEARLY SAFE. But it is improving....

I had tickets for the game Nolan put Ventura in that headlock. My dad shared Rangers season tickets with a group of business associates, and we were able to go to one or two games a month because of it. Again, we had tickets for THAT GAME. And my dad gave them away. _He gave them away._ There's no way he could have known what was going to happen that night, but still. _HE GAVE THEM AWAY._
