Gotta give props to the artists and animators for that one, they did absolutely amazing work modeling these characters after their voice actors! and it figures that the Genie and Robin Williams would be number 1 because as everyone knows when it comes to Disney characters the Genie as well as Robin himself are legends!

Honestly I kind of miss this aspect of classic Disney. The way they captured characters by hand drawing and animating based off of live re-enactments was super cool.

Having always been a huge fan of "Glee", I was beyond ecstatic when I noticed that not only was Calhoun voiced by Sue Sylvester herself, Jane Lynch, but resembled her perfectly. Vanellope and Ralph are also dead ringers for Sarah Silverman and John C. Reilly, respectively.

It’s one of those cases where they got the PERFECT cast for every character! Like in the TV series, Star Wars Rebels (2014-2018), all of the cast members chosen for the main characters were very carefully selected for their personalities being so very much like that of their chosen characters (like they were cut from the same cloth) and so they were able to give it their all

Apparently a lot of Yzma's energy and dramatic movements came from Eartha Kitt herself when recording voice lines. Should have easily been an honorable mention at least, since Yzma may have been completely different had it not been for Kitt

The fact that they managed to take an honestly beautiful actress and turned her into Yzma is just astounding on the artists' part. Honestly Yzma literally looks like if Kitt took on a villain arc, but also somehow looks much older than Kitt-I mean Yzma is almost skeletal in appearance

Jane Lynch was the best part about the Wreck it Ralph franchise. Phyllis smith has had this happen to her more than once. Not only the animation of sadness was the same, but her character Phyllis on The Office was named after her.

Let’s not forget: .Sebastian the Crab-Samuel E Wright (The Little Mermaid) .Lumiere and Mrs.Potts-Jerry Orbach and Angela Lansbury (Beauty and the Beast) .Captain Hook- Hans Cornid (Peter Pan)

One that was overlooked was Shenzi, one of the hyenas from the animated version of "The Lion King" looks just like her voice actress Whoopi Goldberg

You forgot to mention Hiccup - Jay Baruchel from "How to Train Your Dragon". Not only do they share the same body type, but in the sequels, Hiccup also gets Baruchel's tall frame and stubbly facial hair.

Also, they noticed how when he was recording his lines he would gesture and 'talk' with his hands/shoulders so added that into the character. Astrid poked fun at it in the 2nd movie.

Key and Peele were given a fantastic interpretation in Wendell & Wild. Loved the character design in this one.

In the older days, they'd often use the voice actors faces as a reference when animating the movie, so it's no surprise that this practice stuck.

John C. Reily as Wreck-It Ralph and Jack McBrayer as Fix-It Felix Jr. are perfect as they are great matches!

You forgot to mention Carl Fredricksen as Ed Asner from Up (2009) and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Maui from Moana (2016).

Another honourable mention is the late Bob Hoskins. He played Mr. Fezziwig & Old Joe the Rag & Bone Man in Disney's A Christmas Carol. Jim Carrey played Scrooge & 2 of the Christmas Ghosts. All of the characters were made up to look like their voice actors. If you think Scrooge doesn't even look like Jim Carrey, you may be right in 1 way, but I think an age progression was used to make Scrooge as well.

Eartha Kitt as Izma- the animators based Izma directly on Eartha, but were terrified to show her! In the end, she found it hilarious.

Disney is well-known for copying the faces and gestures of the voice actors onto their characters. Mrs Potts/Angela Landsbury awa most of the other characters from Beauty and the Beast. You have Louis Prima and the baboon chief from Jungle Book right down to copying the conga line he and his band would do on stage. If I recall correctly, I remember seeing a feature on The Wonderful World of Disney, where the animators were frequently given photos of the voice actors. It’s a signature thing for Disney animated films

I don’t think I’ll ever forget Robin Williams and the legacy he left behind. Some of my favorite films had him play a huge role like Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society. Mrs Doubtfire was hilarious and Flubber prob played an even bigger part of my childhood. His role as the Genie is obvi my fav though. I hope he knows that in the afterlife.

I actually find his filmography to be a bit of a mixed bag. I never had a favorite of his roles

...I just knew "Anastasia" wouldn't be here Anastasia & Dimitri both share some physical resemblances to their respective VA's Meg Ryan & John Cusack

Arleen Sorkin..Harley Quinn. Batman TAS. The character was was not only modeled after her, the creators claimed her performance was so great they kept bringing her back and developing her more fully.

After seeing this, I’d like to see top 10 video game characters that were designed after their voice actors. No, NOT using all the face net technologies and stuff like they did for James Cameron’s “Avatar,” but characters’ personalities designed and/or being changed to match their actors, just like this video.

One must not forget Bunny in Rise of the Guardians being modeled after High Jackman

Although her part was small, I think you should have mentioned Ofra Haza (Moses's birth mom) from The Prince of Egypt. Apparently when the animators met her they instantly scrapped their original designs.

I was more a fan of Spies in Disguise than I was of Shark Tale

Lesser known work, but Jonathan Frakes as David Xanatos in 'Gargoyles' is even more uncanny than any of these. Iirc, the character was designed after Frakes, and then Frakes wound up voicing him anyway.

I thought Bobby Driscoll as Peter Pan would be here. They are practically identical, the animators captured his mannerisms and even the way he positioned his wrists.

Eep’s boyfriend Guy in The Croods, at least to me, looks very much like his voice actor Ryan Reynolds

I often wonder if someone like Robin Williams knew how much he meant to me personally, and then I see I'm not the only one who felt him on a personal level too. He is synonymous to my childhood. I even processed my parents' divorce through Mrs Doubtfire. I always wish I could have made him feel how loved he was.

Professor Ratigan of Basil the Great Mouse Detective is the earliest character I saw with this, first seeing the movie when I was 5, and it was originally released the year I was born. Vincent Price was so colourful in his performance, and it's Ratigan I picture when I hear his name, rather than horror movies. He was my introduction to the concept of the villain getting the best lines, and in Ratigan's case, the best songs. What a r- er, big mouse!

Eartha Kitt and her voiced character Yzma from Emperor's New Groove are basically the same.

Funny that number ten was Will Smith Who played Genie in the Live Action film of Aladdin

I think Nick Wilde from Zootopia looks a lot like his voice actor, Jason Bateman.

Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III was designed after Jay Baruchel in the way he spoke animatedly with wild hand gestures as he talks

mid-60s or thereabouts, saw a picture of a Disney animator and one of his creations; was surprised at how much they resembled each other. many years later, saw _Dragonheart_ and was surprised at how much (there's that phrase again) Draco and Sean Connery looked alike. it eventually -- and finally -- occurred to me that sometimes characters' features match those of their "voicers".

What about Dwayne Johnson as Maui? The appearance of him as the Demi god is so similar!!

I would never have connected Emma with her character in Croods; still don't see it. Pretty good list otherwise.

Actually, I'm pretty sure Carl's appearance was based on Spencer Tracy. Now, Cosgrove on Freakazoid, on the other hand, was definitely made to look like Asner, who also voiced that character.

I watched the 2010 Oscar's in my college dorm building's community room with two other guys, when they announced the winner for Best Animated Series (in this case, UP) it showed Ed Asner in the audience and I told my companions: "That's Ed Asner, the actor who voiced Carl Fredericksen." They responded: "Huh, he even looks like him." "Oh, I'm sure they would've used the actor's face as a model for the character."

What about Christopher Daniel Barnes as Prince Eric? He looks a lot like Eric when he was 16 or 17 when it first came out in 1989. They designed Prince Eric after Christopher Daniel Barnes.

From DreamWorks, Guillermo Del Toro's Trollhunters (it's an animation an there is also a movie about this serie if you want to check it) series and from there the character, Walter Strickler voiced by Jonathan Hyde. Walter does have two forms, but they both look very much like Jonathan Hyde. :D Movements, gestures etc. Although I may be a bit biased, as I am a fan of this actor.

OK, it may not be a Disney movie (and the video doesn't say Disney only), but IT IS an animated CGI movie, and Tifa Lockhart in Advent Children is designed after her voice actress Ayumi Ito.

Impressive choices! But my faves on the list have to be Fairy Godmother, Sadness, Calhoun and Lady Tremaine.
