July is a key moment for Boucheron to celebrate innovation and creativity. This year, Claire Choisne, Creative Director of Maison Boucheron, was drawn to take her quest further, deeper into the theme of light and its power to change one’s surroundings.
“Light has always intrigued me. We live alongside it, in it, without knowing exactly what it is. Does it move? Is it white? Is it multi-colored?
While her search to define the significance of color for Boucheron has lasted many years, she found the solution in a radical and euphoric release, which goes against the particular discipline which defines French High Jewelry, except of course, it matches the very spirit advocated by Frédéric Boucheron. The freedom to create above all else.
With this Holographic collection, I wanted to bring a new meaning to light. One defined by Boucheron. To capture its very essence, which is color.
Every piece is like a prism, catching the complexity of light by representing every single color that is held within it. Every piece reveals the colors of the world on a different day.”

@@19gregske55 The mount was designed in the mid 1800s by jeweler Jacques-Albert Algiers. Several houses picked up the design in the 1930, including VC&A and Cartier. It was Cartier who brought it to the forefront by designing pieces bought by Edward for Wallis Simpson. Pave design has been making a comeback starting in the late 1980s till the present.

@@danielclaeys7598 : I could tell that you would know the correct answer. Invisible setting is so unforgiving: a millimeter might as well be a mile. A true collaborative effort with the gem cutter and the goldsmith.

Andrew, what a superb collection! I haven't seen anything remotely like this before and the use of the Rock Crystal was magnificent. Of course, I adored the colours of the Opal rings although not as much of an admirer of the Ethiopian Opal. Maybe I've just been spoilt by seeing so much of the beauty in Australian Opals. Although the design of the singular fish earring was amazing! The Rock Crystal necklace with the thousands of Diamonds perfectly placed along with the 20+ carat Yellow Sapphire was the centre piece for me. As was everything else I saw. This is exactly what the world needs right now, a nice big injection of colour back in our lives! I do hope you're doing well and thanks so much for this video to brighten the day. In my first comment, I was in the beginning of the video, more precisely, in the introduction. Sure do and they are also used in the Kirk's Folly costume jewelry line, many pieces have been discontinued tho. I have some for sale in my craigslist ad in SoCal. Hit me back if you are interested.

Hi Andrew! The earrings are stunning, did she use mother of pearl on them and some of the other pieces? I am not a big fan of opals tho and the rock crystal makes some of these pieces look cheap to me, odd. Maybe it's too modern for my taste. I pray you are less stressed these days as it seems you are putting out videos a little more quickly. I'm still waiting on the series on where were we, rubies next, then the emeralds and tanzanite? I am so glad to see your honest comment, it makes me smile all the time, especially when you mentioned that the rock crystal makes them more cheap! I have difficulties completing my research with the rubies collection. I need more study on it and more research. But hopefully I can publish it before the end of the year.
