Tools for Transformation - Abdallah Rothman

In this lecture, Dr. Abdallah Rothman discusses the path of Islam as a continuous process of self-development and transformation towards surrendering to Allah's will. Acts of worship are intended to be transformational, not just transactional. The guidance found in the Islamic tradition requires self-discipline and a constant struggle against our inner selves. Dr. Rothman outlines the "6 M's" for transformation, which are based on Book 38 of Imam Al-Ghazali's "Revival of the Religious Sciences," titled "On Vigilance and Self-Examination."
In addition to the academic work, our students engage in a process of inner-reflection and diligent self-work. What they do on this online diploma not only involves working on how to implement the Islamic paradigm with clients, but also in their own development as therapists. This is what makes our Islamic Psychology Diploma stand out.

Beautiful lecture! Whilst the diploma is for practitioners, I think the info you have laid out and other modules on the course would be extremely beneficial for those who are not practitioners! Perhaps a self-development course could potentially be introduced to the college! Or even a book! The more people hear about this part of Islam, the better!

@@CambridgeMuslimCollege I applied the first year that the diploma was offered and the response clearly stated that only individuals with a background in psychology can apply. If that has changed please do let me know.
