    I have a similar screw extractor from Engineer, has a slightly different head to it than the vessel one. Thread checker is handy for the more common screw sizes, I tend to use a thread gauge set and verniers for my line of work.

    I have a annex manual impact I've used for a while since it takes bits instead of being stuck with ph2 or 3 but it's heavy and has one purpose. I got my vessel reversing ball grip days before he did and man it works well on cabnet hinge screws and honda rotor screws. Plus you get a convenient package of a regular screwdriver (the slop isn't bad no worse than a racheting klein driver). A good way to get the stripped screw function without a heavy dedicated tool. That thread checker is far better than the one on a steel loop that I have and flop around gonna have to get one. Almost a year ago you could get the spider brand to send you out screws for m12 surge m4 20tpi? Something like that I'm glad they ate including them now. I did a while ago get the titan mini but rachet with the swivel (last best tool did a mod and cut the handle down and I followed suit) it's not do bad. I took the side screws out and put copper and bronze washers in between to stiffen it up so it didn't flop around. Cutting off that handle making it silly short actually works. I used it the other day in a old handy box to pull out a screw to disassemble it (1 gang left to right) these are from the 50s. So they have there uses for sure! If you haven't tried vessel you should get a set I bet you'll use them alot even elderly relatives have switched over dosent hurt there hands with arthritis so bad.

    I got a Titan swivel ratchet that’s really similar to that Ares one. Looks like the one you found is a better deal right now, but Titan could be worth checking out for anyone interested. They have the 1/4 inch drive socket style or the hex bit style as well.

    @@MORGANSMaintenance It just sounded like in the video you were under the impression it was a shock absorbing build into the handle. Which is not the case. Its to break loose rusty seized up bolts and screws. It can be used on undamaged fasteners and will not tear up the head of the screw when used properly.

  • @MORGANSMaintenance

    @MORGANSMaintenance

    @mumbles1justin I probably misspoke. I was trying to explain that there was a little more slop in the bit to allow for the handle to spring back forth. Like I said, I had no intent in using mine that way… but thanks for clearing it up 👍

    It does like the impacta I got mine only a little before him and yep it does honda rotor screws. I noticed when I put significant pressure on the back on the screwdriver and tried to reverse some philips screws it auto assisted itself. For what it's worth it does the same function as impacta in the more convenient ball grip form. The honda was a 1992 accord aluminum rotor screws annex ph3 jis bit.

    I have 2 styles of the thread checkers. I have the type that are cable looped and the type you have. The type you have is soooooo much better. You made the right choice. This can also actually work with thread pitch it doesn't have. I was having trouble figuring out a metric screw. I got the size to fit in one but it wouldn't thread. I looked that size up and found another thread pitch my didn't have. I ordered that screw and it was the right one so I made a mental note of that. if you find one that doesn't thread metric or SAE but you find the size it fits, it's the thread pitch that's off.
