Took a punt and bought a Decathlon Stilus E-ST - 29er EMTB.
There were no videos and hardly any reviews so I took a punt based on the success of the E STs bigger brothers success. So I made a video to help you decide. Any questions, shout!

It ain t heavy... Its at a price point❤❤❤
Bosch motor is its selling point❤❤
Great video, looking for my first e-mtb and the Decathlon Stilus E-ST popped up in a guide to decent entry level ones, but a real world review from someone who bought it with their own hard earned is much more reassuring
Nice one pal, thanks for posting.
Don’t worry mate at least you’re honest. I have the e st 900. 2900 miles this year. Love it. Keep well. Trev.🤙🏻
Nice one James, keep it going mate.
Rock on James👍🏿 I'm sharing this vid mate. You've just gained yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the vids mate 👍🏿

Thanks Neeko, very kind. I’ve got a few questions on here I’ll try and address in a video soon.
I bought one of these a couple of months ago, I take it on mountain trails 3 or 4 times a week. I’m delighted with it so far, as it allows me to do 30kms of trails no problem. I’ve changed the pedals for more grippy ones and I plan on changing the rear shock soon, the one it comes with is a bit rubbish when you are pushing on the downhill sections. All in all though, it’s great value for money 👍👍

Like your video, the price difference between the two bikes is in the motor and battery. I have the ST-900 fantastic bike the main think is too enjoying them for me it was like being 21 again instead of 61 with COPD.
Thanks for the review
Its a good bike. Enjoy it. Nice video..
PS love your video...❤❤❤❤
I only ever use eco or tour . Eco on the flat and small hills tour to punch up bigger hills . Get just over 30 miles out of a 500 watt battery with 4500 /5000 feet of climbing.

Does it have a throttle?
Good honest video , still holding out for the V2 version. I found out they are made by a small company in Italy called Lombardo. They make 4 versions on the same frame . The decathlon branded one is called Semipone and looks really nice in their colour scheme. I've emailed them directly to see if they sell and ship to the uk

Interesting stuff, never heard of lombardo but I heard this frame is used by more expensive manufacturers?

No and from what i hear Decathlon may have dropped them and making their own . Bought a Cube Hybrid race 140 instead.
Great vid mate and welcome to the ebike world, you decided on any upgrades yet?
we need update on this bike mate! did you managed to set back sus properly?
Come on James. It's time for a new video and an update on this bike. I missed out on mine, long story. Just waiting for these to return into stock, but still, no video's about. Just yours.
Thx for a great review. It looks like the reach is quite short on this bike and standover height is low but I can't find any exact numbers. Anyone knows the reach and standover height on a size Large ?
Chip please and tell us how it goes.
It is a girly colour mate however nobody will nick it and it may help in more genteel settings.
Good afternoon I lost the battery cover by accident and it is impossible to buy it in Bosnia and Herzegovina, please help me where I can order a battery cover with delivery to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Thank you
Great first vid still isnt any other videos on it elsewhere. Would be cool if you could do a comparison with the old stilus v2 if u knew anyone with it to compare. And hows the torque will it get you up the hills easy? And the weight is it heavy? Chears

Hey Hugh. I’ve not met anyone with the other Stilus’, I’ve just watched all the videos on here. I have had absolutely no trouble getting up hills, at all. I mean when I say in the video, you have the option to work as hard or as little as you please on hills. If you want the intense work out, leave it on ‘eco’ which ultimately counteracts the extra weight of the battery and will make you work as hard as riding a standard weight full sus bike. If however you’re like me, I sit on EMTB and occasionally turbo and fly up the hills. The motor stops assisting at around 18mph so on the flat or a gentle incline, you may not need any assistance at all. However on those steep inclines, it’s a beautiful thing to hit turbo and sail up the hills. I gave a polite nod to the local cyclist group on road bikes who shouted ‘that’s what we need, an engine’ as I passed them on a steep hill. Of course they came into their own on the flat and flew past me. However saying that, on the downhill the bike is quick! And I really quick. So it only assists to 18mph or so but as the bike is so heavy, once you start rolling down, the momentum takes you. I’ve hit 39mph on the road.

@@jamesbarclay5453 thanks for taking the time to reply with such detail, a few other things I have a good full sus and the spec on that bike would be a downgrade aside the motor ofcourse, would I be better off buying the dearer one if I want a dropper or air forks etc. Thanks

@@hughoneill6555 I’m no expert in the bikes, however that’s where the extra £700 comes from in the Stilus 2, the rockshox and dropper seat post, as well as the larger battery. It’s very very hard to get hold of. I had a large in my basket twice and by the time I had put my card details in, it had sold. Typically, once I had ordered the E ST, a batch came into stock and was there for 10 minutes or so. If you do go for the Stilus 2, I’d recommend checking the stock at all sorts of time of the day. Set it as a favourite on the decathlon app. I saw it in stock between 6 - 8 am a couple of times and one evening.
How do you get the battery out my keys stuck in my bike 😱
I’m trying to get my hands on one of these but they are hard to find at the min

The Stilus family are notoriously hard to find because you get a lot of bike for your money. When I was trying to find the original Stilus, a few times I spotted them in stock between 6-8am however I have also seen them in the evening. My advice is to download the decathlon app, save the bike to your favourite and check 3 or 4 times a day, it only takes a second to open the app and see the stock. And if you get it into your basket, smash in your bank details. Twice I had it in my basket and by the time I’d entered my card details, it had gone. Good luck!

The top question I can’t help you with. The second, I’ve yet to take it on a mountain however I’ve hit some very steep hills on it and absolutely sailed up them. On a full charge on the flat you’re looking at 100 miles on eco, 62 on Tour, 49 on EMTB and 43 on turbo. Of course, the steeper the mountain, the lower the range.
Hi James, how have you found the bike at climbing hills. I've ordered one on this video

Hey CossieP, you won’t regret it. I just replied to Hugh below this which should answer your question; I have had absolutely no trouble getting up hills, at all. I mean when I say in the video, you have the option to work as hard or as little as you please on hills. If you want the intense work out, leave it on ‘eco’ which ultimately counteracts the extra weight of the battery and will make you work as hard as riding a standard weight full sus bike. The motor stops assisting at around 18mph so on the flat or a gentle incline, you may not need any assistance at all. However on those steep inclines, it’s a beautiful thing to hit turbo and feel the bike taking off with every rotation of the pedals. I gave a polite nod to the local cyclist group on road bikes who shouted ‘that’s what we need, an engine’ as I passed them on a steep hill. Of course they came into their own on the flat and flew past me later on. However saying that, on the downhill the bike is quick! And I mean really quick. So it only assists to 18mph or so but as the bike is so heavy, once you start rolling down, the momentum takes you. I’ve hit 39mph on the road.

@@jamesbarclay5453 Superb. Thank you buddy. You're the only person on YT with a review of this new bike. Nice one fella, and thank you again.
Has anybody done a review comparing the Stilus 2021 v2 model (£3.5k) versus the original Stilus @ £2.8k. The extra £700 is a large dollop of dosh, is it worth it?
