    I have been using the same cable Toocki 100w for 5-6 months. Its working great. Seem to be constructed well and works better than advertised and all for usually $5+ shipped to the US.. nope you can't beat that price.

    It's definitely an interesting cable. Seeing as the wattmeter was well-built, it would be perhaps worth to measure also how well it carries the current. Julian should have enough meters of its own to measure either the voltage drop along the cable under a decent load or perhaps even a USB-C cable ohm-meter.

    i really like these cables. i have 2 usbc-usbc and 2 uscA-usbc, they're great to diagnose any power delivery issues. i have the usb meters which provide way more information but sometimes (rarely at that) they'll mess with the connection and not allow the device to pull the full power. whenever that happens, i can use this cable and see how much it's actually supposed to pull. not only that, but they are convenient since there is no extra dongle or anything, everything is packaged right into a normal cable.

    The outer sheath is a zinc alloy (not aluminum). And it supports USB 2.0 data transfer speeds (480Mbps). They also have a USB-A to C version that will do up to 66w fast charging. I've had mine a few months since I saw it on a GreatScott! Video. Another benefit is you can see when something is done charging on the display. Leave my ipad or laptop plugged in and when I see the watt display hit zero I know it's fully charged without needing to wake it up or turn it on.

  • @gd.ritter

    @@DPortain quick charge from several brands support different voltages/wattages if you have a compatible device and charger over "standard" USB-A. Samsung, Qualcomm, etc can swap to 9v or 12v and higher output after a negotiation over the data pins. It's like a proprietary extension of the USB-A standard and I'd say it's basically a prototype of how USB-C PD works.

    ATTENTION: the seller has increased the shipping at least here from free to 2€ or so Might be the result of increasing demand and most recently they have let the price stay the same but added shipping which many might overlook once they had seen such offer / presentation on yt. I had been astonished at the check out about the prices they want to ship 3 cables to germany and it is far too much cause UK is even further away and even VAT is higher. Sad but true , will have to get one later , but I will put it on my tech to buy list.

    I use that ravpower powerbank with my TS100 at work, just perfect. It has to be the ravpower one, my Anker one doesn't deliver the 12V only 9V. However when I connect my Anker powerbank to a USB C PD module (those small blue ones) it provides 12V which is strange. Must be something to do with different protocols or the USB PD specifications.

    That's a serious issue and maybe even a fire hazard I think I've once burned a cable when running it on 100 Watts, normally the cables won't allow so much current trough because both devices measure resistance, not always apparently But I want to advice to watch out Or even skip the fast charge overnight

  • @nightshadelenar

    @nightshadelenar

    @@DreStyle a lot of mobile devices (phones, tablets, ect) from 2018 and newer sense resistance indeed. this does mean that if the resistance is high enough, it will choose a lower power level than the device and source can handle. this cable though, i'd rate for a max of 60 watts continuous, or 80 watts for a max of 2 hours. meaning, a wide range of devices can still use the cable since the average charge is around 14-16 watts, aka normal Fast Charging.

    I bought one of these cables amongst a few others from this seller. They are good quality and decent gauge conductors, I keep buying the half a metre length versions (it's an illness I think) of fast charge cables at around £1 including shipping. You can't buy a UK stamp for that. Once Apple have switched to Usb C there will be a price rise you see. If you look further in the listing for the 100w with display you will see a picture of the display PCB cutaway, save you the trouble of carving it up. Half a metre is quite long enough for me as a charging cable , less resistance too
