You're gold my friend.
Instant title click
Too much choice can cripple the creator within us, write a list of projects, ideas etc pick one that resonates deeply and stick to that until it's done.......great video!
god youre so good at what you do

It’s always like this, use what you have to get what you want.
This is the first video ive ever watched where everything fell away and i felt like you were speaking directly to me. Like we were just two people sitting on a couch talking. Thank you for reminding me that I'm what makes my art special and that sometimes i need to limit my scope. Ive been watching your videos for a while now and you're always so insightful. It's always a refreshing take and i look forward to the next piece of wisdom you impart.
I love the small scenes in between your topics/pointers! I've often been overthinking and overwhelmed with not knowing what to choose when making something. And then it seems like I just become lazy, or just stuck in a place where I don't do anything, instead of just choosing something - even if it isn't the right choice. The wrong choice is better than no choice/ action. Your work is truly inspiring, and you are connecting so well with your viewers! Much love
You never miss. Opening scene was the best intro to this video it could be. Solid advice and execution as always!
The simplicity and genuine approach to this topic is just mind-blowing!
Very true! Great reminder. Especially about gear...😬
This made me feel so seen, heard and understood 🙏thank you
This was what I needed. I was in the middle of editing my short vlog film, and was feeling so overwhelmed that I was not able to edit it properly since the January.
I absolutely agree with all of this-I’m horrible at finishing things that are too vague-adding constraints + focusing on one thing at a time helps SO much
He takes me back to the times of covid when i used to watch Jake frew videos day and out. His content has helped me alot with photography and life. The calm his videos have is unmatched
Really love seeing you evolve! It’s inspiring to see you grow and improve, and that gives hope to me. Love your style!
i love this. this is absolutely beautiful work!
Love love love this!!
Love this!
NO JAKE THANK YOU!!! Your videos are very inspiring …from where you stared to where your are now with filmmaking… 💥
I've really been loving a lot of your films lately Sir. It's artistic, aesthetic, and mindful. 95% more satisfying than the majority of the uploads on the platform. I especially appreciate the focus on creativity and mindset over gear. Excellent work.
I love what you do SO much. Your message, style, the entirety of your voice really speaks volumes.
Love this bro 🖤 1000% agree w/ everything + intro 🔥
After following you for a while, it is great to see you grow! Thank you for sharing! It is very relatable and I couldn't agree more on the thoughts you give! Super good analogy with science, btw! Another engineer creating here! Keep it up!
Great video as always Jake!
Danke! You touched me with that video! Greetings from the other side of big sea 👋

Wow, the thumbnail is a piece of art and the intro is absolutely amazing! Great video
Such a rad opener. Dope concept.
So cool, thanks for that video Jake ! I am novice filmmaker and love what you do, still finding my way in terms of creation. You are such inspiring person 🙏 !
What a time to be alive to get this sort of advice for free Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for this, Jake. Literally have been avoiding watching because I've been struggling with overwhelm. But, of course, this was the talk I needed. 🙏🏻
Loved this and makes perfect sense both when I'm looking back on my own past and when looking at why I'm struggling with current projects. Definitely applies to more than just films.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experiences. Here's to growth and learning! 🌱
this is amazing. love the shots here
Brillant intro and brilliant video 👏🏾
I was so glad that I got into videography before I found this out. I may not have even started if I actually knew how deep the rabbit hole is. Now I just bring my camera everywhere and see what I can do. It helps me stay away from the paradox of choice fatigue.
reminds me of a quote I heard: Think outside the box or… Be put in the box and explore all the corners and the void Idk if that’s word for word but it was something like that
Love it.
Completing any project is worth a prize! As a prize we get a feeling of great satisfaction. But not for long. After some time we feel that emptiness again... It's time to create something new again! It's a never ending cycle ;) Thanks for the inspirational video Jake!
This is probably the most relevant, most helpful video I’ve watched in a while.
I really appreciate your videos
love this
Another banger. That ilysm at the end always makes my day :) Also I dig that long sleeve shirt any clues to where I can get one?
Instant subscribe. This storytelling and colouring is next LEVEL
Absolutely loved the intro!!
Another amazing video buddy 👏🙌
This video is simple and the message its not new, but opened my mind somehow. Thank you so much for your inspiring videos. Keep doing, please.
Have been thinking about this topic for a while so it's cool to see you made a video on it. It would be cool to use a single lens for a whole project and see what you get as a result! great video, thanks
This was aesthetically pleasing and chock full of valuable information. Thats a new subscriber 😂🤝🏾
This is the exact same thing with music production. I started setting timers for myself a couple years back and I feel like I've grown so so much since then. Limitations are key to keep us more creative
I feel like you've gone to a whole new level recently. Masterful.
What a killer intro Jake! 👏
That video sir, just officially elevated you to my favourite KZreadr. Brilliant Craft. Brilliant Information delivery. Brilliant Advice. Thanks Jake.
perfect!
I like how this video was made with a 4:3 aspect ratio (I think). A literal limiting aspect ratio compared to a bigger 16:9 ratio. Besides, the 4:3 is more nostalgic in my opinion.
Greate topic, thank you
Wow. Thumbnail is dope. Music is dope. Intro is dope. Title is dope. The message is dope. You’re so dope! ❤
Daaaaaamn! Never thought that man half my age will teach me life… a bit more. Thanks 😘
I love how I can read comments and watch this video at the same time on my phone. Great aspect ratio
Love your videos! Always something unexpected. Loved the Mayo. As for gear - I agree. We filmed with a Canon M50 and a GoPro for over 3 years. I still love the videos we created. It was a great place to start and to learn without too much complexity. When I stepped up to a Canon R6, our videos did take a leap up in quality. The color, the stabilization, the LENS!!! I wouldn't want to go back to filming with an entry-level camera, but it was the perfect gear at the time. It is capturing the story that is important - and just making video after video after video. 😳 P.S. I always look forward to your videos. Thanks!
The grocery cart scene, loved it!
amei muitooo, tô aprendendo inglês contigo e crescendo mais no audiovisual, inspirou muito
well done!
Wow there’s that many types of mayo!?! This was amazing Jake. Really great discussion. Limit what you can work with or do and you sometimes get better ideas. And I also absolutely love that it’s in 4:3 Btw. Sweet stache man
Incredible
Yes, film school was nice for being told what to make, and having a framework. Then, around graduation, you start to crave freedom to make what you want, which is perfect.
love the mo
I like the idea of self-assignments. I have been thinking about making a short film and see what I learn from the experience. But gear... I think some of us create content so we can justify buying more gear 😅
This is so nice
Top notch creativity
duuude that intro sequence was so gold haha. How did you get that shot of the trolley wheel?? its epic!
Love this! How'd you rig the shopping cart wheel shot?
PLEASE turn this intro into a film! Imagine he buys a pound of all the different options to be safe, but unfortunately, problems arise down the road which eventually lead to a giant mayonnaise explosion

Hahahaha, brilliant.
That thumbnail was so magnificent I couldn't not click on this video.
Please make merch that says, "Just Focus" because who doesn't love a punny double entendre.
What aspect ratio is this filmed in? Threw me off a little, but beautiful video!
I love how the next video recommended is titled ‘unlimited rice pudding’
Hello Jake, thank you for this video! I'm a music producer but I still found your message helpful. Which instruments I use? which scale? what about the arrangement? Every time I start a new project I feel this "urge" to have everything figure it out as quick as possible, the drums, the bass, the verse, the chorus, and this makes me quit a lot of my projects because "not good already".
I love the entire video, especially when you quoted what Jim Carrey had said.
Woah?! That was only 8 minutes? I know it's not an original comment but I legit checked the time as he was signing off because it felt like 5 max. So sucked in. Lovely as always... Digging the aspect ratio too.
My camera doesn't auto focus and it's one of those limitations that gave me stronger legs because I need to get up and adjust the focus all the time when filming myself. One day though, I'll be able to afford gear that does auto focus. My content might not change too much, but it will be a little easier.
Ha I Loved that intro. Brilliant. If KZread doesn't work out for you, an Oscar may be on the horizon ;)

You ruined my life jake - This is amazing, truly inspiring filmmaking
❤❤❤
Limitations are just perceptions!
🔥🔥🔥🏆🔥🔥🔥
All that matters is story. That's it. The rest is icing and honestly when you're starting out. A waste of time and money. Fancy gear will come, it'll always be there.
nice jake
❤
Nice aspect ratio
Are you from Denver or was your last video from just a visit
How do you color grade your videos?
Do you do the fox failed series?
What is the aspect ratio of this video? Can anyone tell me please?
Damn this plant 4:35 had a lot of water.
What inspires you to get ideas for these kinds of videos.??? How do you stay inspired?
