Lego: This Racers set is Street Extreme SpitBrix: Is the street REALLY extreme, or is it just the excessive amount of stickers- Lego: *DID I STUTTER?* While the train sets do have a lot of stickers, the fact that Lego went the extra mile gave you the opportunity to further customize it whether it be a Belgian train or a British one rather than just a generic sticker like the newer train sets is a nice touch. If any of you guys need something to help place the stickers better I would use the wedge part of a brick separator and place it on what side of the sticker of the hand you use (if your right handed use the right side of the sticker and left handed use the left side of it). This is more useful for stickers 4x4 and below. For bigger stickers use the separator on your hand side and finger on the other side to place in on. Hope this helps.

Jesus, hearing the word "Exo-force" just threw my head back to my childhood where I had a comic/instruction booklet for one of the sets.
Certain lego themes are known to have many stickers, like harry potter. There are a few themes that are all printed, like super mario (though mario has the factory applied scan stickers). Lego nowadays has a lot less stickers than 20 years ago. That being said there still are plenty of stickers in a lot of Lego sets Nowadays a print piece that's made usually will appear in more than one set, or is supposed to be a unique piece to a set.

Perhaps a good torture method for our camps is to make prisoners put a Lego sticker on perfectly. Love how for the team transport bus set, they kept the middle of the blue striped flag at 5:18 blank so you could pretend you're the national team of Argentina, El Salvador, Honduras, or Nicaragua. If that was a mistake, then it was a good one. As long as you don't use the stickers to replicate Honduras vs El Salvador...which once led to actual conflict.
The Dark Trooper Attack is quite a cheap set but 15 stickers is insane!
Stickers in Set = I am not buying this set. Period.

I have the Maersk Triple e, it took 4 hours to put all the stickers on properly.
1 sticker is too many stickers
I really like the stickers for the train sets, otherwise I’d prefer to not deal with stickers
The damn stickers
When I was building my STS-31 Space Shuttle Discovery and Hubble Space Telescope, the radiators on the shuttle bay doors were giant silver stickers. It was a nightmare to put them on straight since they were so big. Edit: I’d like to give it to Mega for making their decals be PART of the brick now, most of, if not all of the time! Really makes building easier.
When I was a kid, the Star Wars Episode III Tri Fighter from 2005 was a pain with the amount of stickers I had to apply, but the Speed Racer sets were ridiculously Sticker heavy at points.
I'm not a fan of stickers, but I can see their benefit in cases. Where I can absolutely not understand the overabundance of stickers is in the high price sets. When I pay an absolute premium on Lego, I expect a premium. Having to apply stickers in 300€ sets is just disappointing. I love Ninjago and Monkey Kid, but the amount of stickers in these sets is just too much. The designs are awesome, but I'd prefer if these were printed.

@@TXnine7nine The production cost makes almost no difference - it's the logistics: If you put 100 printed pieces into a set, that's also 100 unique pieces Lego has to handle in it's production. Cobi has a much smaller and very specialized lineup - mostly military, almost no technic… All this reduces the number of colors and different molds greatly and leaves room for other kinds of variation (they also have a lot of very specialized molds).
Imagine if LEGO made a set where there is a building that goes way above the other buildings, and ALL the windows in needs to have a reflective Windows, and now You have 200 stickers each side to be put.
As a child I hated the stickers in Lego I felt cheated then and now .
Came in for Legos, left with some lego knowledge and a new app to check out
The car in the thumbnail is epic
Stickers start to peel off over time, likely due to humidity changes. I don't even bother anymore putting the stickers on my sets. While it's hard not to put stickers on some sets, I don't recommend doing so. In the long run they won't last, even if just having the sets on display. Bigger stickers can stay on longer, but even those bigger stickers can start to lift over time. It may take years of having the set on display, but it does happen. Printed bricks are so much better, plus if you want to make MOCs with the parts, it's better to leave them sticker free. Well, unless you have your own sticker printer and want to customize it for a period of time. Just don't expect those stickers to last over years.
If you ask me, one sticker is too many.
Good video. I would have compared the number of stickers to the amount of pieces. In the Diagon Alley set there are 109 stickers for 5544 which comes out at almost 51 pieces for every sticker but Street Extreme has 757 pieces for it's 108 stickers and that comes out at only 7 pieces per sticker.. which I would say is way worse.
Honestly I think there should be a hard cap on the amount of stickers you can require for a set
personally i have very shaky hands so if i open a set and see more than 10 stickers i get pretty annoyed LOL.... but if i open a set and find 80+ stickers... i'm just not gonna use the stickers at all🤣
Thank goodness I do not own or plan to own any of these LEGO sets that would be excruciating to build
On this list, the true champions are the two Maersk ships, as you actually need to apply almost *all* those stickers. It is optional for the sets with more stickers than them. I have the #5 set, and gosh, the sticker operation is a stressful affair for OCD people like me who want all of them to be aligned perfectly. ;)
You can think of it what you want, but my godchild loves them and glues with enthusiasm the beautiful little pictures on, no matter if not quite straight. Kids like stickers.
Basketball Player minifigs? They had some weird hands.
I really like the stickers and am a big fan of them in most sets. I like the sticker uses on the daily bugle set and it would just not be complete without the stickers some of them are funny too with nice little Relevant animations on them

Oh man, I had that ferrari set. I forgot it had stickers, though it makes sense. It's not like I liked ferrari or racing or anything, what I really wanted was 7 completely red minifigs with cool balaclava heads. Never realized the soccer sets had plain color torsos as well, I would have gotten those as well years ago!
I had one of the train sets from that era (4.5V battery version, not shown in the video) and in real life seeing the white on white stickers was not terrible, but it wasn’t great either.
wish stickers would be a thing of the past.
It is a pain of stickers it better not come back.
I think you should've used part to sticker ratio, because ofcourse super big sets will have a lot of stickers. But tbh probably it would be speed champions only
Man, that Exoforce set!!! The MEMORIES. I have three sets, one owned by my brother. I own the Turbofighter, the thing with the twin boosters on the front and back attached to wings with a gun configuration to hold and fire its missile weapon. I also own the Tank, the big orange boi with the rubber treads and adjustable suspension height with a cannon up top that fired the little yellow and green discs that always got lost. And my brother owned a little battle mech. Those sets really need to make a comeback. They're so cool and the lore was top notch. Another couple series that need to make a return are Power Miners and Mars Mission. I own quite a few Mars Mission sets, specifically the MX-81 Hypersonic Dropship, the Crystal Reaper, the MX-71 Drop Ship, and the rounded Alien Split Fighter, you know, the one that splits open to reveal its weaponry. As for Power Miners, I and my brother own a Granite Grinder each, the Chopper, the Mine Mech, and the Crystal Crusher (the one that has the really long digger arms that slammed down on rock to mine it.) My dream sets were the Thunder Driller and the giant Titanium Command Rig. The Cave Crusher and Crystal Sweeper were also big sets that I wanted. Man I miss those series.

These sets aren't Lego sets, their sticker books
The train set stickers is country dependent. I saw the SNCF logo which is the french train company "Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer".
Would you like some Lego with your stickers in this Lego set?
In regards to set 10121 (the NBA one) The Thunder didn't have stickers because they didn't exist yet, because at the time they were the Seattle Supersonics (who do have stickers) and had yet to be stolen away to OKC (seriously, Seattle based NBA fans are still salty about how it went down). The team that's "Missing" is the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets who didn't start playing until the year after the set released.
When I saw that Maersk set I laughed out loud
I sometimes wish they would lump the stickering steps together. Some people are better at applying stickers than others. Having the stickering steps grouped together a parent can go ahead and get that done.
if a lego set came with just 1 sticker, it would have too many
That moment you realize you have a large amount of parts of an Exo Force set.
All I need to do is build all these, and I will finally be able to put on stickers perfectly
There's "Woah, this has too many stickers", and then there's "Oh neat, that's a lot of stickers for customization.". That last set shown, I'm perfectly fine with that. So long as the cost to manufacture that many stickers for the set wasn't cost prohibitive, I'm all for it. The same with the train sets. Now most of those car sets, that's where I draw the line with stickers. The recent The Office set, I'm fine with the stickers on that one. That's the type of set that you'd build for display, and they gave you options to swap things out. Not an expert on these things, but I'm wondering if licensing for some of these is a factor. That the license allows stickers to be printed, but the pieces can't be "branded". Whereas stuff like Star Wars or Marvel licenses allow the parts to be printed.
Stickers can be a pain at times. I do have the maersk set at no.5 and I do remember spending a long time applying each individual sticker to the containers. Fun times
Stickers are the bane of my existence. The amount of times that I have put the stickers on slightly sideways (and losing my mind over it), is insane.
Set 40318 MSC Cruises is 181 pieces and has 30 stickers for what's essentially a micro build. That's 1 sticker for every 6 bricks which is insane.
Drinking Game: take a shot whenever he says "stickers"
You cracking up at the increasing number of stickers made me crack up too
Yes a Lego Racers Tiny Turbo Set Love Those Sets still need to complete that series almost done
Seeing the Dutch Railways logo as stickers in Lego is just cursed
So when making toys with decals, the print run often has sort of minimum sizes that anything smaller is the same price. Soy for example if the printer’s cost for a sticker sheet has a range of 2x3” up to 6x8” for the same cost, then it’s a win-win situation where we can fill the sticker sheet with duplicates, alternatives and just fun stuff, die-cutting doesn’t add cost nor does the ink, so it’s a win win situation.
“Sticker” no longer sounds like a word
Well, for the Maersk set, they could have just printed all those tiles. That's one reason why lego prints pieces, to make it easier and less annoying for the builder to construct.
I just love those trains. They are neat!
Honestly you could have put every technic set on this list. 😂😂😂😂
