I was literally just talking to my friend about this yesterday! I get so overwhelmed and can't decide what to play, especially when they all feel endless. I need to start mixing in some beatable games to make me feel like I play a variety lol

I look at review videos by streamers that I like, I see what games look appealing to me, and I start from the cheapest, because why not?

I choose the "Eeny meeny miny moe" method to choose what (cozy) game to play. Luckily I have a Steam Deck to make playing those games more convenient.

This video was very well made and timely! I feel like a lot of people (myself included) are having this problem right now😂

I am struggling with this so much right now. We have truly been blessed with games in 2023, but oh boy is the overwhelm real! But I think you make a really important point when you said cozy games are games that are cozy for you. Yes, there's a genre with aesthetic tendencies and some popular tropes, but then again one of my failsafe cozy go-tos is free roam in Red Dead Redemption 2 - just riding a horse and enjoying the ambiance. And I can swap from that to ACNH or Coral Island and still feel nice and cozy. I love that we have such an amazing wealth of options.

The "how much time" thing is such a real consideration. We got spoiled with the 1000+ hours of ACNH that came at a time we were all stuck at home, but it's totally fine to say "I am busy, so a 6-10 hour game is perfect for me right now"

I think the idea of trying to incorporate games that you can beat so that you can have a sense of accomplishment is great!

We jumped in and started the Fortnite Lego mode last night, definitely a worthy inclusion to the cozy games list. I'd love to see you try it out!

I really love your definition of a cozy game. YOU get to decide what's cozy to you! I don't really like the notion that games have to have a very strict set of qualities in order to be cozy.

My strategy is to watch your streams and see if it looks like something I'll like! Aside from ACNH and DDV, you've got me playing the watermelon game and I just downloaded Coral Island. I'll just stick with that plan in 2024!

I can definitely relate to this

I love games with great building mechanics! Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley will always be OG Cozy for me, and I looooove how many new games we have to choose from and sharing them all with the KZread community!

I think what I’m missing is having games that are finite, so I can feel a sense of accomplishment. I have four games that don’t have an ending that I want to play, and a very limited amount of time that I can play.

For now, I'm going to stick with Disney Dreamlight Valley as my main Cozy Game. I do plan on revisiting Minecraft, my first Cozy Gaming experience, at some point though.

There are to many games period, let alone cozy games. At this point I buy games and shelve them until I get to them. I'll get to them eventually. Thanks for the video Caito!

This is definitely me. ACNH will always be my forever game and I try to usually try to get in a few hours of DDV each week for the Dreamsnap. I’ve recently started playing Hogwarts Legacy, although it’s not technically cosy, I usually just fly my hippogriff around Hogwarts in the fall while neglecting quests. But trying to balance all 3 and a job and bring up two small humans is hard

I play on Xbox and pc. Choosing is a nightmare.

I really love DDV and sometimes I play ACNH. Don’t need new addiction, that is why I stay away from other games 😉
