It would be neat if you were able to give a quick weather report at start of vids. Maybe like wind speed, estimated wave height, water temp, outside temp time of day. Just a thought.

Hey Bud... I know I've asked you this question before and you were kind enough to answer. I finally got a town mooring in Massachusetts but I can moor nothing longer than 18ft. I think you said you had a jet boat and you wisely asked what my purpose was going to be. I currently have a 95 Whaler Dauntless DC with a 115 mercury. It run great but has some issues that I dont want to be the one to fi . No bow and stearn lights but I'm not really interested in snaking new wires in a foam filled hull. I think it needs a new steering cable and a few other things I dont want to contend with. I do spend some time in angry water with big tide changes but I'm never out much further than 10+- miles and mostly work the closer rock piles. So tell me if you were looking for a "used" 18 ft boat with a pretty deep V and that would fish well but also takes the Mrs on rare occasions. I have taught her the ways of five gallon buckets or swimming. How about tossing me a few recommendations on makes and model's so I can check them out b4 I get rid.of the Whaler. Rule out everything in your vids and you'll get the idea. It's a tough process cause it's like a Ford/Chevy discussion with a lot more name involved. Dam if I didnt make this the post from hell and I dumped it on you. Sorry friend.

The mountain range on the horizon looks incredible. Is there a sandbar or reef causing those massive waves out there? Do the boats with 3+ engines have too much weight in the back? The bow of those boats loaded up with multiple engines seem to point towards the sky a lot. Do any sailboats ever come out of this inlet? Was Picasso a genius or did he just need glasses?

Those big rollers in the distance aren't a result of the 'mirage' effect as someone commented earlier. That would be called the Gulf Stream, and when it's nasty there, the waves are even nastier in the Gulf Stream.

I've been on a waverunner on Lake Michigan when the waves were 6'-8', and it's a hell of a lot of fun. When you jump off the top of a wave that's on top of a swell and look down in the hole you're like 20' above the water. Time it right and you land on top of the next wave, time it wrong and you slam into the side of the swell and that can be painful! At the bottom of a swell you just have a wall of water all around you and the sky above, it's a bizarre sight. I only lasted about a half hour out there because I was getting beat up pretty good from the aforementioned slamming into the side of a swell, but it was a lot of fun!
