Well, I'm a lifetime enterprise systems admin. What they did is basically correct. In the past, where there were a lot of smaller Internet providers, an IP block was generally assigned by that provider, then used to cover a specific geographic area. Those IPs were then assigned to users via a process called DHCP. These IPs assigned to users tend to change at regular intervals, and user firewalls prevent you seeing the actual user computer. But traacerouting back to a small area, or even to the user's external firewall IP (if the IP hasn't changed) is very realistic. I often saw hacking attempts on our systems, and just for my amusement traced them back to universities in China and places in Russia.

Serena is beautiful but I feel like she’s trying too hard. No ADA dresses like that. I like the previous classic style of Alexandra Cabot and Abbie Carmichael. There’s a subtleness there. They didn’t need to get dolled up because they were already very elegant.

They probably didn't want to use a real IP address, for the same reason that they don't generally use real phone numbers

What Some Strange Circus said. It is why all phone numbers are 555. So no one calls a real number and harasses them.

I’m not entirely convinced the brother is guilty, the mother and how she’s unable to even speak a word says the dads dominating personality wasn’t limited to the brother at all, and it is very possible even his golden child was suffering but couldn’t bring himself to go against the dad

@@mikelavallee2497 Maybe that was the point they purposely used an invalid IP address. This would avoid Bothering a real address. Like 555-1212. Or 867-5309.

Most likely done to not potentially give out a real IP address.
