The Sopranos is kind of fascinating in that it is a mafia story but it somehow became more of a metaphor for every americans life. Dog eat dog, the death of morality, and the increasing belief that life is meaningless. Throw in the perfect music and from start to finish it was a masterpiece.

Dave Davies guitar work is simply brilliant. It is hard to believe this song was a 60's song as sounds like a very modern rock song. When I first heard this on The Sopranos I thought it was a cover as too heavy and modern to be The Kinks but I was wrong and Ray Davies does a great job with the vocal.

The show displayed Italians in general, their side language, like this thing or our friend all part of many Italian peoples lives Who don't have an "OH" in a holiday gathering and this in my opinion as an Italian with an uncle Tony and cousin Carmine, is what made this so relatable to so many.

there were so many great tunes on this show, but this is really the one that kinda reflects Tony Soprano for me. also makes sad now when James Gandolfini has died. he has this amazing aura about him that makes you love him even though his character was cruel and bad human and he himself in real life was not from the niciest persons. but its impossible not to feel for him when he's down. whether its this bad Tony Soprano or James.

A David Why do you need to put one above the other? Both are classics. Sopranos is about how you can't change who you really are (from a very early age); BB is about the study of change. There's no better series opener than Breaking Bad and no better series ending than Sopranos (though you have to really think about it to appreciate it). I'm not even going to start on the greatness of The Wire.

***** First of all, *SPOILERS* At first I thought that it was deliberately ambiguous, but I've come to be convinced (by some people who have spent a LOT of time thinking and writing about this) that he is dead, and that's what Chase intended. We're watching from his POV. As the door dings he looks up in anticipation of seeing Meadow, but the screen goes black because he's just been shot in the head and his POV no longer exists (poor old Meadow would have walked into a horrorshow.) Why spend so much time on Meadow parking? Because if she had been on time, she would have blocked the assassin's shot, and the hit might have been thwarted. For a show bound up in Tony's psychology, it makes sense that there is nothing, blackness, if Tony's consciousness has ended (and there is no afterlife).
