Tony is playing left hand bass most of the time. If you have a bass player you are working with or are playing bass with the pedals you could use some simple 3 note rootless voicings. In he Key of C try E Bb D for the I chord Eb A D for the IV and F B E for the V.

In the first part of the video Tony showed the run in C blues scale, but he played the black key C# which is not in C blues. Was it a mistake or intention?
@DoubleAncient
9 жыл бұрын
Petr Stránský C# makes some of those patterns sounds more jazzy. Also it helps you to play scales up and down without "returning stairs" in only one way, because it is harder to play C-D#-F than C-C#-D#-F (just because of the bigger distance on keyboard). There is actually harmonical theory besides, and sometimes C# is not going well, but I am not very good with jazz harmony, unfortunatelly. I also like add clear D in those, somehow scale sounds more "classical", but still with blue feeling :)
