A devoted student doesn't have to "clarify" for another devoted student. He or she only has to clarify for those who are looking for a legal loophole to live on in the flesh. And since I've pointed that out let me go on to emphasize it makes them the legalists, attorney's,.. pharisees.

I tried to be careful which video I picked because most of them were too lenient.. and I know their concept of verse 16 would deny the beginning of the chapter. They always have some argument that sustains their favorite man made doctrine's. I first read it in a NAS Thompson Chain, then I went to a berean study, then I went to Bible hub, then to John MacArthur and he did emphasize perseverance always accompanies genuine conversion. But his persuasion really doesn't quite explain what's there in chapter 4 because once again it would undermine one of the evangelical doctrine's. And like I've said for several...most of 20 years eternal security only works as long as you're abiding in Christ. There's no discrepancy in the NT (or OT) revelation. Our sins are forgiven if we're truly His and our continuing in the faith is the only proof to ourselves we were ever born again. There's danger in loss for the many many who have been told everything is ok because they seem ok from casual observation from their "pastor's." The warnings in scripture are for real. *Jimmy wants everyone to know he's offering a study Bible with a better Christian worldview. And for the casual Christian I'd say his would be better than quite a few. **Someone said I wrote, "eternal security only works if you continue to work it." No, that's clearly reading in to what I wrote. There's seriously some illiterate master's degree graduates.

He's giving credit to modern transalations which is an abomination according to Jesus Christ in which Christ states 'dont add to or take away ANYTHING that is herein written'. ALL modern translations do that very thing.
