@@gibsonlp1866 That's because it was at the lowest point of Sabbath's and Tony's career. I never liked that era , I saw that tour and wasn't impressed. Ian doesn't get enough credit for the Born Again album , both the screams and Tony's evil riffs on that album were insane!!!

I love the Tony Martin era, but honestly it was not “Black Sabbath.” But then neither was Gillian, Dio, Ray Gillen (Eternal Idol “demo” before Tony Martin joined) or Glenn Hughes. I like every one of those eras, but only Ozzy made Sabbath complete. Each singer after Ozzy brought something different to the table, and that was cool…but it wasn’t Sabbath. The only thing common between all of these line ups was the name. Each had a different sound, not better or worse…just different.

My friends were like 'that's not REAL Sabbath' and I got into the 70s era, but now that I'm grown up and looking back, I love this album, it means a lot to me. They were at a peak, doing what any great band does... evolve. Anno Mundi is an insanely powerful song

Thank you guys so much for giving these albums some well deserved attention and re-releases! Tyr especially for me is so far from what i think off as a black sabbath album but still one of my favorites overall. Dio and Ozzy are legends no doubt but Tony was in my mind at least as good as most great vocalists out there. He just aced it and did som great work for a band he was playing in and i loved how he dared to go so far out with this one and it's nice to see him say that he just did exactly that cause he just thought it was best to do his own things his own way. I have been quite cross about these albums not being out together with the rest of the catalouge so it feels like a big victory to finally see them on spotify etc. cause there is just no reason for actually really good albums no just not be there(Forbidden is well.... forbidden and the remix definetly makes up for some of it but still not my thing). So thanks Tony and Tony! :D

Mr. Iommi, I don't know if any of these comments find their way to you, but I just want you to know that not only did you inspire me to pick up guitar (I've been at it for 20 years now), but your "Paranoid" album is the reason I'm still here. I was in middle school, and I was RELENTLESSLY bullied every day (even when school wasn't in session). I had absolutely nothing going for me, and I was going to end it. One day, I was listening to our classic Rock station on the radio, and they played "Iron Man", and your guitar tone made me realize that I HAVE to do that, I HAVE to play guitar. I did go out and buy the "Paranoid" album on CD, and a bit later, I bought my first guitar (both from Walmart, which, the guitar was like a FirstAct double cut with 1 humbucker and a tremolo, because it was accessible) My whole outlook on life changed (for the better), and my thoughts of ending it all went away. All because of that one song. Im 34 now and about to be married later this year, but without your music, things would've taken a much different turn. So I wanted to thank you for everything. And I apologize for the long comment, but I felt the need to post it. Rock on, man! 🤘🤘

The average Sabbath fan and Sabbath inspired bands are _Soooo_ depressing. First they ignore the singers beyond 1980. Then they ignore even the Ozzy albums after Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and fixate on their supposed "blues" sound on the first two albums. RE-DUCTION-IST. Even the last Sabbath lineup did this on their setlists.

I’m sure this will be unpopular here but I get really frustrated with Iommi’s comments and assessments of albums. He always says “it was a bit different” and “we worked with what we had.” These comments could apply to anything. And Martin doesn’t help. Just no insight into why this album was made.

A few live shows featuring Tony x 2 plus Neil Murray and Bobby Rondinelli would be a cool thing ... I really liked Heaven In Black from TYR plus Cross Purposes album .... Forbidden has some great tracks but an awful cover .

Good songwriting on TYR.... but the album production left much to be desired. Thin-sounding, shoddy and cheap. Ruined an otherwise great record.
