Tony Franklin • 1984 Firm Bass Solo + Band Intro
Музыка
December 9th, 1984. The Firm's second show at the legendary London Hammersmith Odeon. I was 22 years old. This was only our 9th show, 3 months before the first album was released. I love seeing the vibe and the chemistry between the band members. My solo evolved as the shows went on.

Beautiful Solo, Tony. Just think, this is from 1984, and YOU are still able in 2023, to keep Rockin' and Pouring it on. Fantastic there Son.

I was fortunate enough to see you 5 months later at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford CT. I was 18 at the time and being able to see Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers, Chris Slade and yourself was a dream come true. Thanks for the memories.💙

I'm from Windsor, CT. I was 24 and there too. Radioactive was fresh in the airwaves. I had been playing bass since 77. I subsequently bought a Tony Franklin Precision Bass in 2013. Quite a solid instrument.
I just received this DVD, and had to own this show. The Firm was Brilliant! No other bassist could have played better than you with these musicians. Thank you for the music.

This is pretty impressive! I love the firm! I think the most impressive thing I've ever seen you do and the one that took the biggest balls was when you broke out of clarinet and did a solo in the middle of a live show of blue murder ❤

A kickass solo and always is a pleasure seeing and hearing you create your musical art. I was a whopping 15 when the Firm came out, had been playing a jazz precision for 2 years and was blown away by the sound of your bass. You sir gave me the fretless bug!! Thank you for the inspiration and for all the kickass music in The Firm and especially Blue Murder.

Tony, I saw The Firm in Atlanta on the first tour. Even being a massive fan of Mr. Paul Rodgers and being seated on the floor about twelve rows in front of Mr. Jimmy Page, you my friend were the most memorable part of the concert. And what a concert it was! Kudos!

Thanks so much. Gosh I don’t recall. It was some kind of rack mount chorus and delay. Long gone. It was pretty primitive
Slap on a fretless, must have taken a toll on the fingerboard by the end of the tour.

Nah. Ebony fingerboard
A few minutes of Tony Franklin displaying why he was worthy of playing with The Sorcerer! The cool thing about The Firm was the unique sound, (bass and vocals) not an LZ imitation like Coverdaledale Page was. Would have loved to hear their progression going into several albums more Jimmy's Deathwish work was underrated in this time frame also, there was a lot of raw greatness ahead.... and then nothing..... For Chris Slade fans check out the unreal Solar Fire album by Manfred Mans Earth Band
