    He's held to a higher standard he may not need to confess to the world but he needs to confess to his congregation. He's trying to lead them to the road to heaven and not to hell . David did sin and the bible tells what he did good and bad. It was told to the world... Why hide what T.E. did?

    Absolutely true! *Therefore the SWORD will NEVER leave your (David's) household because you have * *despised me (God) and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own. 2 Samuel **12:10**.* King David's household (children especially) was indeed in total ruins. I am compassionate about forgiving God's people because truly we all error in Christ Jesus, but I have to go beyond my own feelings and see the *Holy Spirit's* mind surrounding these scandals, though vague.

    Well if he didn't need to confess the sin to anyone why then did he have to assure the world that it wasn't a crime when he was never arrested or indicted for any crime in the first place? If the sin is no one's business apart from family and the eldership then it shouldn't be anyone's business if it was or wasn't a crime either.

    Yes we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but we don't have to keep falling. After we sin, we confess, repent, and ask for forgiveness and we turn away and go in a different direction in Christ. We can't take our eyes off of Jesus and we have to allow ourselves to be fully opened to the Holy Spirit. Walk in the spirit, so we won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. I have learned a lot from his teachings. I pray for Dr. Evans restoration and deliverance!🙏❤️🙏❤️❤️🙏❤️

Yes, perhaps Tony Evans, should have been truthful in the moment but the most important thing is: HE HAS TAKEN ACCOUNTABILITY( no matter the reason)!!! When JEHOVAH’S plans are to be executed, nothing can STOP IT!!! I never heard your podcast before but “YOU”, can’t tell me: You have always been truthful in the moment about all your sins. Sometimes, we have to process our wrongness( no time frame)!!! Now, if we don’t give GRACE, to him; then we are the problem because he’s HUMAN. I don’t know of a human living, who has not sin & will sin again. PRAYING 🙏🏽 FOR GRACE, MERCY & FAVOR( for Mr. Tony Evans)…. In The Name Of His Darling Son Jesus!!!!

    @sgueto0590 What people fail to realize is time matters. Time waits for no man and the longer we put off repentance the more likely our time will run out. We can't repent after we die and think God will be merciful and let us in Heaven. I've already asked for forgiveness from God and man and repented from real "old sin." I continually seek the path of His righteousness and immediately ask for forgiveness and repentance when I miss the mark thus there's no such thing as a current "old sin." If these celebrity preachers would teach this Biblical principle, instead of hiding behind their public relation firms, then maybe people wouldn't think it's ok to continue to walk in and/or hide sin indefinitely. Now, check your Bible.

The lady in the video and you have not confessed your sins to the world. So practice what you preach or in this case practice what you condemn. This is an earthly and emotional approach where you feel entitled to know what he did. That’s not your right. I guarantee you that there is a sin that you are ashamed of that you haven’t confessed to anyone, yet alone, THE WORLD! Let’s chill out and give this man grace. We all need it. He’s still a man. It is funny how we make ourselves "seem righteous" when we are not the ones who are acknowledging our sins or faults! Dr. Evans was courageous enough to admit to something he did in the past. Why should the world have to know the details of what it was? So that we can talk some more, and tear him down some more? So that we can gloat some more? Why the analysis or the burning desire to analyze? Did Jesus not say, "...cast out the beam out of thine own eye [first] before attempting to cast the speck out of thy brother's eye? (Matthew 7:3-5)? Did Jesus not also say, "... He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her?..." (John 8:7). Confession of sin is first to God. It is God who judges and forgives sin, not man! I think the matter is best resolved if we all pray for the brother and his family at this time, rather than trying to perform an autopsy!

    The Crummie's didn't live in Texas nor did they work at Oak Cliff. They lived & worked at a church in Georgia. His heart failed unexpectedly around the same time that Lois died after an illness. It seems Oak Cliff chose to help Carla by giving her (a young widow) a job with the Urban Alternative. Obviously their relationship became romantic. I honestly don't think this situation involves his new wife. Evans is also Kirk Franklin's pastor and the familiesare VERY close. Kirk is worldly and it wouldn't surprise me to hear that Evans watched or experienced something inappropriate during their travels or holidays...

His sin, whether new or old, is between him and the Father. We give this to you, Jesus,❤ and we will see your Goodness shine through ALL of this. Amen

    When you are leading God's flock, you must walk in righteousness and if you fall short you must repent.... immediately and cast that sin away from you, forever. There will be others who will confess that they too have sinned while leading God's flock. But that does not mean, that we are blameless and should cast a stone or gossip at the expense of a leader seeking forgiveness.

    I'm here, all the way in Southeast Brazil thinking about all the teachings Pastor Tony Evans has blessed and still is blessing me with. We have a lawyer according to 1 John 2:1 . I have a close friend and sister in Christ to whom I tell everything I WANT. But to Jesus I tell everything. He's my Lawyer. He's the One that justifies me when I confess to Him. "Who are you (or anybody) to judge the servant of others?" Romans 14:4. Imagine Dr. Evans explaining in details whatever his sin is or was? He's my brother, I am one with him and he and I, and Oak Cliff church members and I are one with the Lord. I am praying the speculation and gossip to stop because the devil wants people specially "the goats" in the church to make a fuss of that. He has confessed his sin. I didn't hear. He didn't confess to me, but he doesn't have to. Enough said.

    In the context of biblical teachings, I believe that sin is sin, and repentance is essential. However, my question is: if you marry someone with whom you previously committed a sin, wouldn't that sin persist? Why refer to any sin as "old sin" when the consequences or "seeds" of that sin continue to affect your present situation? I'm not pointing any fingers, but I know of a similar situation where a man married his mistress, and it led to significant turmoil. The children realized their loving and trusting father had cheated on their beloved mom, and all hell broke loose. Much prayer is needed for this family, and for any man of the cloth who represents God in a way that is not righteous. As it is written in Galatians 6:7, "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." This scripture highlights the lasting impact of our actions and the importance of living a life of true repentance and integrity.

    A lot of people feels that Pastor Tony doesn't have to share what his sin was. They feel people are just trying to be nosy. Pastor Troy should have called a private church meeting and told his members that he was stepping down and why. His members should know why he'd stepped down. The world did not need to know that Pastor Troy stepped diwn, but since he took this to the world, then the world needs to know why too. Eventually the secret sin will be revealed. I believe someone was ready to expose Pastor Tony unless he stepped down. Pastor Tony said the sin wasn't criminal, so I am thinking that the sin probably was adultery with a very young female that was of age to be able to consent. Why else would he say the sin wasn't criminal? The truth is going to come out.

    Anyone who confesses their sin should be forgiven. Not sure what was confessed here? A sin from the past could be anything (a baby from an affair, sleeping with an underage child, etc). Now before you say, "It ain't none of your business what he did" OR "this is our pastor and he is a good man" Or "call me a heathen", I am fully saved. Why say anything to the congregation if this is some frivolous sin? Too much is missing in this professionally written statement before we can apply true restoration. Respectfully submitted..

  • @anitastrickland5936

    @anitastrickland5936

    Ай бұрын

    He doesn't have to fully confess anything to you to be restored. He went to the elders, they are the ones who oversee the church, to hold pastors accountable. If he has done what God has required, pray tell, where does your opinion fit in? Are you willing to pour your sins out before the world? This sister knows better, if she's a Christian as she would lead you to believe, and God will hold her accountable. His word says, "Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm". God will do His own chastising, remember Job and his judgemental friends. After Job's season of testing, God had him pray for those that spoke against him so that they wouldn't die. I'm only saying, mind your business and let God do the chastising. No matter what his sin is, your sin in this gossiping, judgemental post is no less than his. So maybe everyone on here seeking anything less than God's Grace and Mercy for the man should think about that and tread lightly. God's Grace is an awesome thing and wonderful to behold but His anger is swift and fierce and who can stand against it. Tony Evans is God's Pastor and He alone has the right to chastise, correct and redeem him. No one else, therefore, find something constructive to do with your time and stop using God's space to tear down others.

David confessed his sin to Nathan the Prophet, not to his army or the entire nation of Israel. Why? Certainly his men would have killed him for what he did to Uriah. And now we see what so called Christians and the World are doing to Dr Tony Evans not even knowing exactly what he did. The Bible says that he who is of a faithful spirit concealeth a matter.(Proverbs 11:13). We don't know all of the sins of the congregation or the elders. Why do we need to know what Dr Evans did?

    I find the commentary on this a little troubling. People are voicing their opinion on Dr. Tony Evans. He's a great man of God. If he confessed his sin to the Elders of his church that was good enough. You don't have to share everything with everyone {because really it's none of their business}. Matthew 18:15-20 is the remedy for this situation. I pray there isn't more, and if there is it is none of our business! Pastor Frederick Price, Jr. had an issue, and to our knowledge, it was sin. and it hasn't been revealed yet. . . I don't know if it will come out with Dr. Evans! However,, let's keep living for the Lord. I wish Dr. Evans would've handled this differently.........! Blessings, Rev. Joseph O. Jackson ~
