I grew up in a very segreated south and I've had to "grow out of it". I am aware I see color, but I truly try to look at the heart of the person. In an effort to finish clearing my heart and mind of racism I am focusing on the fact that each person I meet is a brother or sister to me made by he same creator who made me. 💕

@uknow who The terms white and black are widely used to refer to the distinctly different physical and sociocultural anthropological groups that white skinned and black skinned people typically belong to. This entails that skin colour, although used as the label, is just one feature that divides them. It is extremely rare for skin colour to be the focal point of discrimination.

@A MNot a cult but a faith in a living Christ who sacrificed himself for us. There us a difference between faith and a religion. You are correct there are some religions in Christianity that are definitely more cult or cult like, but That's not a faith that Christ honors.

@A M, sorry I Don't believe that way. The final answer will come when we die. I do understand that there are similarities between religions, but there has only been one who lived, died, rose again on the 3rd day as a true physical being and then assendef to His Father in Heaven. May you have a blessed day.

I truly feel like white Americans cannot speak on racism since the institution does everything it can to promote their success. Do you think a Lion is going to complain about an over abundance of sheep? Of course not, how is a white person going to be able to know what racism really is if they never get to experience it to the extent that people on color do?

  • @FadeHook23

@Alan Christopher what does privilege have to do with the institution being prejudice towards minorities? Those are completely different ideas? How does a black man getting killed by police have to do with “white privilege”, it makes no sense? If you think I’m trying to connect the two, you’re entirely misunderstanding my point.

@@daveed467 off the top of my head, without rewatching this video I'm unsure, but from a broader view of Mr. Kendi, he thinks all disparity proves discrimination, when disparity exists for many reasons. White and Black Americans have different rates of educational attainment, are of different average age (peak earning years are late forties to early for fifties), and blacks--a disproportionately urban population--live in cities mismanaged and overtaxed by Democrats, all of which adds up to different incomes which is all too tied to outcomes; so add it all up, Professor Kendi has an erroneous interpretation of the problem, in my estimation.

If you asked me ,a Native American, using a label just like being racist is a label most people view life depending on the circumstances thru different viewers. Those eyes being ,am I being threatened, looking to advance my position in life, procreate successfully, each requires different eyes. Culture plays a huge part of that. I've seen more or as much difficulty between people of the same race regarding positions. My conclusion, at the foot of the Cross everyone is equal and that's the only place it exists. The British penalized the Irish. Native American's had other Native American slaves ,each race has prejudices. Important is not to apologise for who I am, but rather what do I bring that can enhance my neighbors life for the better. I can't do that until I understand I matter as does every other life. Be your best you!

Well put my brother. I’m white and Irish. You.have the whole picture Yes my people were enslaved by England. We were hated coming to America and even killed. My grandfathers father had to form gangs to hold a place in America. It’s a fight to get there yet, I have no hatred and I did not have to experience the turmoils of it. My mother loved the native Indians My parents drove us to Arizona to see Indian shows they put on at the reservations in the early 70s. And so sad all these races Want to bring up the past over and over which tells me their spirit is in turmoil, no growth . The ones we all owe an apology and for book and schools to teach is about the true Americans. THE NATIVE IDIANS of AMERICA. And last but not least, the JEWS. They move on and do not self destruct. Thank you again! you put it a nutshell just wish people would do more research and not join in on the hate. And what’s ironic is,we have polluted your lands and totally pay no attention to what happened . The billionaire elite run us now. Paying politicians millions to keep their heirs on the throne. Turn us against each other. Could happen like the Jews. And now it is our turn to be taken hostage. China is buying land here. Our government letting it happen. I feel why the Indians do not trust us. I’m not of that! I wish you luck!

The hypothesis on race iniquity among people is a competitive bias among their culture, belief and pride that stems from a measure of success to inflate one as superior to another that already exist within each of the races and among themselves. It’s a discriminatory measure that is not completely about the color but about the desire to work inequalities having people placed above and below one another concerning different matters. color racist, financial racist, education racist, sports racist, sex racist, military racist, political racist. Racism will divide a group of people and unite them and redivide them all over again. Race is a competition, another competitive form of war. A racist is someone that chooses a race to participate in, racism is the race being participated in and then you have racist running in the race out for themselves to win. Pepsi is in a race war with Coca-Cola to establish superiority and control over of the majority of the people that will participate in the boycott of the competition.

We got kicked out of a coffee shop in NOLA 2 nights ago for standing up for the badly way we was treated by high class Whites working there. We get on the bus & the larger percentage of the time we won't get looked at or 1 word spoken to us. It's upsetting and painful. As a poor White I've been treated badly by the majority of people most all the years of my life; I'm 65. My sister married 1 country man, divorced and then married another country man. They don't like because I'm different, so I'm estranged from all of them. It's very upsetting to live in a world where there are these different groups of people - poor people, people of other races, country type people, religious people, & high-class snobbish types. It's a lonely world for us as we just don't fit in with any of these groups. It seems there are only a few people that like us - a few Blacks, a few Whites and that's it. We have no friends. Everywhere we turn we get looked down on and treated not very good. We have manners, good hygiene, but not the best clothing but still why must we be treated so disrespectfully most all the time?

I think the thing is, since Whites are the majority in America, people of color and those of whom are considered a minority don’t have the upper hand in certain aspects of society. For example, tribalism in the work place. A white man supervisor is more likely to hire a white Woman junior college student and probably some other white college students and maybe for “diversity” purposes hire only one black person. There’s a likelihood that in that office, the White lady will be favoured very much by the White male supervisor and given a raise even when the black person works twice as hard as she does. Am I saying that every single White person - especially Male is racist, rich, probably lives in an expensive neighbourhood? No! I’m just saying there’s the potential that he has the privilege (by the mere fact of being a white person) to get those status most definitely when in the company of other whites (his tribe) thus climb up the ladder quickly.

I would like to know what makes you think white men would most likely hire a white woman? If I was to venture a guess I would bet white men would statistically hire other white men. I have no data to back that up though. I'm a white man. Not a supervisor but I do own my own HVACR company. I have no employees it's just me. I would never hire a person for diversity purposes. I would also be extremely unlikely to hire a female of any race because they don't apply for trade jobs. In over a decade of trade work I've met 2 women that do HVACR. I'm not in a position to hire anyone right now but if I was I couldn't care less what race they are. I want them out there doing good work and making us both money. In Phoenix the demographics are such that I would be far more likely to hire a Mexican or white guy than anything else because they comprise 75% of the population. Now that I live in Pensacola I suspect if I start my business back up I might very likely hire a black person but I will hire the most capable person I can find irrespective of race. I am not trying to say I don't see color. I don't know anyone who says that 🤣 I am saying as far as doing their job is concerned I don't care. So anyway, I say all that because my above opinions experiences don't seem to comport with what you wrote above. Most white men I know would say something like what I wrote in my experience talking with them although I will admit for some especially the older ones tbh I don't believe they are being honest. However that is rare. I have even had some people come right out and tell me they don't like black, Mexican, Indian, etc people. That is less than 1% of white people in my estimate though. I also wouldn't necessarily pick the hardest worker to be a manager. I would pick someone with people and managerial skills. They would need to be better than average competence at their job though. Someone who comes up with creative solutions and likes to teach would be really ideal.

Well said... it's important to note that it goes both ways though. If I'm being 100% honest, I am an attractive white woman and I have definitely felt the privileges that go along with that in some situations and I'm sure there have been many, many other instances where I didn't even notice. But I have also been in situations where a black or brown person has acted racist against me, or made assumptions about me because of what I look like and where I come from (traditional suburban white picket fence type thing) and have unfairly taken advantage of that. For example I was involved in a car accident in which I rear ended a black man about the same age as me (30). I didn't even think about his skin color... and even though I was clearly injured, my car completely crushed in on me, I struggled to get out and get to the man to see if he was ok and apologize. He assured me he was not injured, was walking around just fine, his car only had a dented rear bumper. We were actually chatting a bit while waiting for the police and he was really cool. But when my parents showed up in their brand new nice SUVs and he overheard my dad telling me he'd buy me a new car, pay my insurance, etc, his demeaner totally switched. The EMTs showed up not even 2 mins later, and suddenly he went from uninjured to faking a limp and complaining of back pain. Now I'm getting sued. I don't know if that was jealousy or racism but all I can say is it was BS, and even the police agreed with me. So thanks to that man basically tipping me over the edge, I don't feel safe around blacks, and I think they are so jealous of what white people have that they'll do anything to hurt us. Just my personal experience. IT GOES BOTH WAYS. Real talk

Your statement is a false assumption! 400 years of unique, disfavored treatment through American slavery, Jim Crow segregation and mostly COVERT race discrimination from the 1960s to the present day actually created the racial wealth gap in the USA! Race discrimination is the core problem. Culture is secondary at best!

No one actually knows what racism is anymore. Can’t we just respect each other and judge each other based off the content of our character? Skin color shouldn’t matter nor should it define you as a person. We have over complicated everything, we are all human beings. If we keep moving the goal posts and keep changing the definition on what racism actually is, we will only divide ourselves even further. We should definitely have conversations but when you try to force your views on other people about race and try to control the conversation by belittling another persons perspective or opinion based off of the color of their skin, then you only stand to lose potential allies. We all need to listen more and talk less. Listen to black people but also listen to white people as well. If we truly want to move forward together as a nation then we must all be treated equal and not be overly dismissive of conflicting arguments.

Racism is the intentional hatred or prejudice of a person or people based off the color of their skin. Racism does not exclude any race by definition. When you change the definition of the word but still expect it to carry the same negative connotations it carried before, then you are exploiting the value of its efficacy. This is not being done by accident, it’s being deployed by those seeking to manipulate others for personal or political gain.

I agree with that professor about the word racist. The way we use the term now is equivalent to the “n” word. The way we define the term now means a person who ACTS on their racial bias. If everyone was completely honest with themself, one would realize that they too have some racial bias within themselves if not consciously then subconsciously. A positive racial bias is often overlooked because people think it’s harmless and beneficial. Nevertheless even positive bias is in the end a form of bias. The issue of racism as a country is very difficult to correct because change must happen at an individual level. You have to make a continuous decision every day to suppress your racial bias and treat people as individuals.
