Unfortunately bringing Caitlin back as a ghost would only work if Tony and the rest of the old team were still there because the only member of the team left she knew was McGee,not sure about Palmer.

Most fans remember David McCallum fondly as Ducky, but for us oldies, it goes further back in years when he was the handsome Illya Kuriakin of Man from Uncle...to see him today as the well loved Ducky is a joy to watch & a wonderful way to bid farewell

Saw him in an episode of Parry Mason being defended for murder. Must have been not to long before The Man from UNCLE as he was sporting his Kuryakin haircut

Always felt Tony was the one character the show could least afford to lose. His loss was far more noticable than any of the others that have left.

A wonderful scene. It was great to see Tony again, of only for a few minutes !!! Brian Dietzen has never been better as Jimmy Palmer!!! Tony's last comment about the lives we touch was so heartbreakingly true !!!

People whine that Gibbs wasn’t there for Ducky’s send off but honestly Tony’s appearance was the most fitting. The episode was already heavy with Ducky’s passing mirroring David’s passing IRL that they needed to end with something uplifting and its in Tony’s character to always bring lightheartedness to the grim reality of being a cop.

He was such a storied actor, NCIS made a new generation learn of him

"The lives we touch" Like Dr. Mallard did for Dr. Magnus, showed him all the lives he helped, families he gave closure to.

You know, seeing Michael Weatherly older shows just how well cast Robert Wagner was as his father.

I have watched NCIS since day one. I bawled thru most of this episode...and never so much as when I saw Tony standing in the doorway. I hadn't read any spoilers for this ep, and was so glad I hadn't. It was great seeing Michael Weatherly again.

I was thinking about this after the show and I think Tony was the only one who could come back and not overshadow the honoring of Ducky. If Gibbs came back it would over shadow Ducky's death too much .And Ziva or Abby both have been gone too long. So I think just the right balance was achieved.

I agree that Mark Harmon coming back as Gibbs might overshadowed the honoring of Ducky and the actor David McCallum.Also maybe the show knew that since Ducky was there from the beginning they had to bring back another original character like Tony to help the viewers get closure in a way.

Some of these episodes have actually made me cry. I absolutely love this show. Blessings,Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊🇺🇸

I thought for sure there'd be other former cast members show up too.🤷‍♂️ David was a veteran of the biz and I'm sure everyone loved working with him. He lived a great life. R.I.P. Ducky.😢

Tony and Palmer are just so awesome together, especially after Gibbs initially left and Tony was in charge. Palmer went from nearly invisible coworker to a younger brother to Tony. Tony himself has come a long way and it's always a joy to see him.

Man hearing ducky pass away was an absolute starstruck. I was so sad and I cried for hours as I rewatch the series from season 17. That was where I was at, before hearing the new about what happen to Ducky, but it was a beautiful tribute nonetheless and seeing Tony was just so much more awesome. Can't wait for the Tony and Ziva spin-off.

I haven’t seen the episode yet but just that clip bought a tear to my eye. Will be truly missed dear Ducky 🥲🥲

This scene wasn't so much about Tony saying goodbye to Ducky as it was Tony being their for Jimmy and because of that Tony was the perfect choice.

@@ClassicHarleyQuinn They all have busy schedules. They all are in very different parts ot eh country or out of the country entirely. You cannot plan for when someone dies. It just wasn't logistically possible. It ain't easy to "make time" and nowhere near as simple as you are trying to make it out to be.

For leaving your issues with the series but many thanks from a fan its make belief but you and gibbs and david brought hope in my life

It was wonderful seeing Tony return, however briefly... It's a shame he wasn't in the episode for a little longer... but still, it was nice. I'm surprised that Gibbs didn't turn up too... I mean, him and Ducky went back years...

I think I saw somewhere that the "two movies" Tony was talking about at the end were supposed to be "Summer School" (starring a young Mark Harmon) and "Office Space" (starring a young Gary Cole). I hope I'm right!

It's great for Michael Weatherly to show up to acknowledge David McCallum. What was a real disappointment is that Mark Harmon did not make an personal appearance. That says a LOT, very disappointing. I'd rather see Weatherly return then Harmon at this point.

He hasn't been mentioned in an episode of NCIS since the one that showed flashbacks of those two and that Nicholas was finally found? Will he be seen again?

Love this moment just wish the rest of the cast that's showing up too. Gibbs must all cuz that's weird they didn't have him come back cuz he was the closest to Ducky.

When I heard David McCullum died, I didn't believe it (who did?). Once it was confirmed, I screenshot the article and sent it to my dad. He has yet to watch this episode. He simply doesn't want to. I remember seeing David McCullum in the original A-Team and in this and it just doesn't feel like he is gone

I wanted to get back into the series when I learned everyone was coming back. I was really sad when I heard that McCallum passed. Then I heard the old cast wasn't coming back. I was even more confused to hear that Tony popped in but I was excited that maybe the old cast was coming back anyway... but, then I heard nothing since. What the hell is going on?

i had at least thought more would have come back. like abby or even gibbs. but sadly not, still it was an awesome episode and great way to say goodbye. rather how most of the series does it.
