Tony Bennett is so great he makes it look and sound so effortless. There is so much power and range in his voice. And he is so interesting to watch singing live. This performance goes way back to the mid 60's when Tony was in his prime. Thanks for posting.

This is a prime example of why a fellow named Sinatra said " For my money, Tony Bennett's the best in the business."

Actually, IMO Nicolas King's rendition is better, with Mike Renzi accompanying on piano.

Tony tops my list too, but there are marvelous versions in all sorts of styles by different vocalists - Sue Raney, Irene Kral, Shirley Horn. Also Andy Williams, whose show Tony was appearing on here.

Check out the solo piano version by Bill Evans. Sublime.

How could anyone surpass the song and the singer... but as a frustrated lyricist, I ask one question about the lyrics: If one is leaning out a windowsill, wouldn't the daffodils he or she is admiring be more likely to be below rather than above?

Not necessarily--I always envisioned the daffodils growing on those hills that the window faces. Where's your sense of romance??

Linda Rhodes "Two-shay" as far as the daffodils growing up the sides of the hills the window is facing, but I don't know that my sense of romance is necessarily off. Maybe just my sense of "direction."

I was envisioning a Parisian style bulding with 5 stories and balconies. He's maybe on the 3rd or 4th story and flowers are dangling from above
