Things have improved somewhat since then I think. I live in a regional town in the north west and I think most aboriginals here work and have jobs (albeit a lot in the indigenous welfare complex), they are unsung heroes actually, but the problem sub-demographic is visible, antisocial, irritating, and there is too much crime, too much vagrancy and begging, and nothing ever gets done about it.

The people questioning Abbott are so emotionally involved that they become stale structures of bias and hubris. When put against the decency and intellect of Abbott, those walls of bias are crumbled into the small pieces of substance they represent. No wonder Abbott was initially barred from speaking. They were afraid that his knowledge and experience would be hard to gang up on and discredit in front of everyone watching this show of emotional blackmail and political bias. Thank you, Tony.

No one has said how this ONE VOICE COMMITTEE is going to fix any issues that all the other aboriginal groups, organizations or committees have failed in improving the issues affecting the aboriginal communities, it looks like another bottomless pit for our tax dollars to be poured into. Maybe politicians need to start listening to the people at grass roots level on what the real problems are & stop supporting the other bottom feeder groups who have done anything for years. The gap in life expectancy between indigenous and other can be cut by 25% immediately if substance abuse was not so prevalent among Aboriginals. Incidentally, Asian people on average live longer than Europeans - so we can't rush to assume that all reasons for disparties are due to social factors or institutional factors... they could be due to family, genetic or other factors. "The Voice" will not cure these issues.

The 1967 referendum, 90.77% of Australians voted to remove RACE from the Constitution, allowing "indigenous" Australian to be on the same legal footing as ALL other Australians and be counted in the Australian population. The vote secured an amendment to Section 51 (XXVi) and the deletion of Section 127. The campaign slogan was "All Australians Should Be Equal" so, the words "other than the Aboriginal race in any state", were deleted. Australians said NO to race discrimination. S51(xxvi) already allows the government to make special laws in regards to "race" or "special laws' for Aboriginal people. The Voice referendum is a Trojan Horse to undermine our property rights further. Property owners are unaware that our governments have already removed our property ownership rights. ALL Titles Offices across Australia have been privatised and they now have the right to destroy titles. Title deeds have been removed and replaced with “digital certificates” of title and hard copies of titles have been replaced with an electronic system. Laws have been changed so that even if you hold a hard copy of your title, it has no legal weight. The value of your property lies in the TITLE. You may want to listen to this voice of REASON (IMO) Grandma Mulara a holder of Grandmother Lore and Colonial Juris Doctor law, who shares her position on the Voice for you to consider. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dnWczc9_qtTbl6w.html As of 01 July 2022, Aborigines have been given 49.3 per cent of our land mass and they want more, all of it if possible. The comparison between the voice and the house of lords is accurate in that it is not an inclusive issue. The logic of the Voice is ‘We have to do something, this is something, let’s do it.’ It will be a massive failure. It will institutionalise the dysfunctional attitude and hand/out dependent seperatism. To bracket ‘recognition’ with the ‘voice’ a 16:41 s envisaged is retrograde, and will not address the issues of disadvantage but will foster a centrist power group that will almost by definition have a bunch of grifters with less knowledge of remote communities than Abbott has.

So parliament has 11 indigenous members out of 151 AKA 7.28% of parliament is indigenous, but only 3.3% of the country is indigenous. They are over TWICE as represented in parliament as non-indigenous people 🤷. I don't support the voice, I don't support ethnic based groups that are near-immune to criticism, overriding the democratic voice of the people. But I do think we could do different things to promote and help indigenous people (and no that doesn't mean just throwing copious amounts of tax payer money at them in vain). I do however recognize that it must be pretty frustrating to be culturally disoriented as indigenous people and unable to VOTE your own interests into fruition because you're just going to get out-voted by the far more numerous Aussie voters.

The end of Australian sovereignty is just days away; do you know that all members of the now evil “WHO” based in Geneva do not pay tax, have diplomatic immunity, are untouchable for any crimes against Humanity, will force the vaccine Passports onto all participating UN Member countries, only the evil WHO will be able to name their next PLANNED-DEMIC what it be? Remember, our Politician TRAITORS and PATRIOTS must do the bidding of this very corrupt WHO. All Bill Gates new vaccines will be mandatory to be injected with their militarised poison, or as in New Zealand, unvaccinated citizens will be tracked down and be injected. The “WHO Planned-demic Treaty” is binding Politicians that sign you up to this WHO abomination are TRAITORS! .>>>>> I don't think India, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia or Brazil will give up their sovereignty to Bill Gates WHO, but we will see. Labor's way - shoot the messenger, ignore the message.
Tony dropping some truth bombs and Dorinda was struggling with his openness and accuracy.
He is not defending anything, he is stating facts, even though Labor has banned facts.
I thought he was there to make a representation not be berated like a naughty school boy by that patronizing pollie
Wish he was PM again
Like him or hate him, Abbott has always been a champion of treating Australians as equals.
This is one country One people Instead of dividing we should put all are effort into making EVERYONE No matter colour, race or genda Anyone and every one who want to succeed in this land should be given all the help they need to do this We will always have radicals both left and right We will never get these people to understand That we are all equal and anywhere there is not equality it should be fix But look at the other countries around our land There is a reason that they want to come to our country We are one and we dont need legislation to separate us Remember UNITED WE STAND dont let these ellites break us And i dont care what race, genda you are
Absolutely brilliant, Tony. And I reflected upon your earlier comments about it’s not for the tax payer to fund lifestyle choices. People in search of education, health and jobs will move to areas where such services exist. I don’t see that happening with remote communities.
@noiamspartacus8965
Жыл бұрын
The negative impractical aspects of living in remote areas applies to all. Social dysfunction as a result of lower employment opportunities, poorer health, relatively higher crime rates, low school attendance etc can all be improved by moving to where better opportunities can be found. Surely this is a matter of personal choice and responsibility for oneself and ones family?
Proud to be an Australian, I oppose Indigenous privilege
Takes a lot of balls to say no to these people knowing how much hate you're about to receive
Good on you Tony Abbott! Truthful. Informative. A fair & clear msg that ALL legislation must be a fair representation of all citizens who 'now' reside in Australia. That is true also for the aboriginals who have been born decades since Caprain Cook discovered Australia.
Sounds to me like Australia may well be heading down the same road as NZ, heaven help you
Just proves he is smarter than average.
Great job, Tony, Sir.
Native Australian.
The constitution belongs to the crown, and I applaud that Mr Abbot clarified that, his reference to the preamble is also significant as the preamble clearly says the constitution is the guidelines for the operation of a FRANCHISE I also admire the very fine detail he can recall, clearly of a much higher i intellect than the current batch of pollies

Spot on Tony, comments on only listen to some people not those on the ground.
The questions seem to hail from an echo chamber of ideological from members.
Tony Abbott is one of few true politicians, Albo can not put two words together!

This woman says that they are disadvantaged but they have far much more spent on their welfare than any other Australian in the social welfare system they all have the freedom to work and live peacefully but they Choose their way of life and that is up to them because they can choose either way they standard Australian does not get these resources or choices if the normal Australian citizens should choose this way they would be off too jail or in front of social services with the future of their children under scrutiny whereas the indigenous society does not get this scrutiny because of the racial factors we as Australians either indigenous or born in Australia are all the same as citizens of any race and we should be treated as the same

Come back Tony
The comparison between the voice and the house of lords is accurate in that it is not an inclusive issue. The logic of the Voice is ‘We have to do something, this is something, let’s do it.’ It will be a massive failure. It will institutionalise the dysfunctional attitude and hand/out dependent seperatism. To bracket ‘recognition’ with the ‘voice’ a 16:41 s envisaged is retrograde, and will not address the issues of disadvantage but will foster a centrist power group that will almost by definition have a bunch of grifters with less knowledge of remote communities than Abbott has.
For MP Sharon Claydon - it is unprofessional to be so irate, rude and clearly angry during a debate. That includes interrupting a former PM and making attacks on his character. Take note that whilst he disagrees with you he remains polite. And being "offended" is not a valid argument.
The Voice has support from the Aboriginal executives who stand to get paid a fortune to swan around in Canberra and travel the world in luxury with their mate Albo.
Much respect Tony Abbott.👍🇦🇺
