Indeed. I briefly took piano lessons to learn a few technical dynamics in person .I can’t do it. I just don’t have the brain cells for it 🤦‍♀️😭 but Tony is the type of teacher I click with! I have check out other tutorials out there as well but Tony is the best jazz teacher out there as far as I’m concerned 😃

"'S Wonderful!". Great vids, Tony! The diminished chords are "connectors" or transition chords. My lingo. Connecting the dots.

Woah! That little bit about trying out the 4 dominant chords based on the diminished 7 (at the 9 minute mark) -- what a quick and tasty way to mix up those passing chords!

Great tutorial!!!! Lots of wisdom from all these diminished and altered , un altered chords. I’m glad I’m getting a crash course on this and I’m not on any kind of level ,,,😅 but I find the things I learned from Tony make sense when I play solo piano 😊

Chet Atkins or Oscar Peterson? Great standard this one and in Eb! hehe.. Jazz piano teacher extraordinaire, sounds about right to me! I'm actually starting to get the improv thing. I see the blues scale and the diminished scales give quite a bit of range. great lesson as ever but this one is really good I reckon. As you say: Tons of ideas. great stuff!!!

Hey Tony, so I find it interesting that whenever this song is sung, it’s more of a ballad slow romantic style but when played solo on a piano it’s almost always in a upbeat swing style? Would love to hear what you could do with this song in more of a ballad style with appropriate fills and such. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent, your videos are gold!

Nice soloing...maybe nice to end on a E Maj711 Eb in the melodie or another time instead of accent parallel just the Gm7 C7 Fm7 Bb7 or better the octatonic III- VI II-V dominant chain of Chick Corea to avoid the two time arriving on Ebmaj7 the same problem with a Tune like It Could Happen..??? If I am talking bull please let me know, Tony! learn lots from You!~! Sir!!!

Hmm you were saying the Abm6 is the Fm7b5 .....The chart says Fbm7b5 so Gm6? ... seems both work going to Bb7 with the way melody is. also likewise somewhat you could write that Abmaj7 like Eb6/Ab cause the 5ths the melody note
