This is my unboxing and review of the TONOR TA20 mic preamp, for XLR dynamic microphones like the Shure SM7B. This is a microphone gain booster which works well for microphones which usually have low volume. This should add 20dB of gain to help you get the volume you need from your microphone. What the noise? Any noise floor?

I feel like it didn't add any additional noise

Just to troubleshoot, does your microphone work when you plug directly into your audio interface without the TA20?

@@noestoydebroma Ok, have you tested out both cables directly with just the audio interface? My first guess would be that maybe one of the XLR cables doesn't work properly. If both cables are working properly then my second guess is that maybe you received a defective Tonor TA20. In that case I would recommend returning it for a new one or for a refund

@@techwithtobias yes, tried two new cables... Same result, maybe is the evo4 that doesn't accept the tonor... Because it has preampls inside. But the strange thing is that the evo4 works with Cloudlifter... Maybe the Tonor doesn't work but what battles me is that when I put the 48v the light comes on (but only white...) No idea, really strange...

@@noestoydebroma Yeah who knows, my guess is that the TA20 you go it defective, especially if the cloudlifter works with your evo4
