I am a senior citizen and am a big Tones And I fan. I about flipped out when one of her songs was playing on the sound system in my local Home Depot. I got so excited I blurted out through my mask, “That song is by Tones And I”, wanting someone else to be excited about, too. The one person who heard me turned around and gave me the stink eye as he quickly sped away. Hope Tones And I makes it big time. With talent like that she deserves to be heard.

@@rezyfx not really, I interpret it as thoughts on suicide, ‘I had a dream I would fly away’ and ‘I alway knew I couldn’t stay’ and ‘ No one could see how low I was getting’.... this is just my interpretation, especially since this is how I always viewed suicide, especially the ‘I always knew I couldn’t stay’ bit.. I won’t go further into my personal experiences... I don’t think this is how it was originally intended to be heard but it’s how I hear it and it helps lol..

Beautiful song! I just heard of this song for the 1st time a few months ago. I find peace, hope & a great understanding in what's has been expressed. It's about overcoming all that hinders us. We may be in it, (the world) but not of it.That counts as joy!

Not only is this song ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, If you follow Tones as much as I do you may have seen on her Instagram stories she had her friends jump into the back of a few of the outside clips. It’s easy to see from her other videos with them in the videos too and how some of her songs are based on her friends that friendship is SO important to her and she is so lucky to have such amazing grounded friends around her. She’s very lucky to have them just as they are so lucky to have her ❤️❤️ It makes me appreciate her so much more as a person and an artist that she has such important values and she’s stayed true to herself throughout her growth as an artist

I lost my mother to an overdose and my grandmother to ovarian cancer 4 1/2 months apart from each other in 2020. They didn’t have Covid. They died in different ways. And let me tell you - losing your grandmother and mother in the same year - that everything else is going to shit in the world - is an absolute nightmare. But this song - this song brought me so much adrenaline and peace and happiness and inspiration. I haven’t felt this much happiness in a song since Can’t Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake. Tones & I has done it again. My grandmother loved cardinals and my mom loved butterflies and I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo with a cardinal and a butterfly. Now I know what words to put underneath them “fly away” ❤️
