Tonerider Hot Classics Review - Budget Bangers
Hi all! Here's my scuffed review of the Tonerider Hot Classic pickups. I wanted to do something with some more post rock modern sounding demos and to talk a bit about these pickups!
If you like what you hear you can pick them up via the following link:

Glad you appreciated it. That's why I wanted to make the demo, as much as we all love boomer bends, it's good to have other perspectives.
Interesting video, thanks for posting. I'm a bit surprised that Fender pups need to be changed for after market pups, but as you say, it is personal preference at the end of the day. I have a (wait for it! ) Harley Benton tele! which in it's self is good for the price, but I am going to put some Tonerider Alnico II Blues neck and bridge pups into it, and I reckon it'll sound pretty darn good.

Yeah agreed, I definitely don't think it's an essential swap but I do feel like the Toneriders are a touch more mellow to my ear while still having a hot edge. I think they are best for just adding the extra icing onto a good Harley Benton or Squier.
New subscriber and Thanks 4 the review! Question 4 U . Any suggestion on a mini humbucker in the neck to pair with that hot classic bridge ?

Thanks a lot! Appreciate the sub and comment. To be honest, I've not really experimented with humbuckers in the neck of a Tele so unfortunately I don't have any solid recommendations. I will say, I do really like the single coil neck pickup that comes with the set though, it's not overly aggressive and gives a warm rounded clean sound.
So I got a player series a couple of days ago, I had previously ordered the hot classics for a project guitar but discovered they wouldn't work, and I'm not able to return them as shipping internationally cost just as much as the pickups. Would you think it's better to sell them privately to try and get some money back or should I replace them as I have them on hand. For my tele I'm looking to run a lot more clean tones, (sublime, rhcp for example) but I also play a lot of rock so it'll be a "do it all guitar"
