I feel an unreal unease from it, like they're all about to be decimated and torn apart by humanity. The barrier is lifting, the setting is so perfect at the very beginning, I think this is going to be about trying to accept the terribly sad things that come.

@@maxinefinnfoxen it's not just a regular straw hat, it's the colour palette as well, the gold/yellow with the red band If the band was green or blue or smth else ppl wouldn't associate it with one piece, but since it's red, it immediately reminds ppl of luffy, one piece really made the red band straw hat iconic

When the trailer dropped three days ago, I thought: “A supernatural slice of life based on Japanese Folklore? Where did I sign?” Episode 1 just dropped and let me tell you, in the less spoiler-y way possible: that hug at 1:04 was universally felt. And deserved. Sometimes, when we are down, WAY down, you just need some words and gestures that reassures you. That makes you feel seen and protected. Even from a humanoid bird (I don’t know the exact name): that day, that black fur feels so warm. Sorry for the papyrus, but this is gonna be one of those underrated animes the word “underrated” would be an understatement. Also, no context spoiler: 🤚✋

I'm kind of reminded of How to Keep a Mummy, which was super cute! Also, the nekomata admitting that he's kind of shy was adorable.

Fun fact (or shocker): Yuki Kaji (Eren Yeager) voices the cat Buchio. Maybe he got a second chance at life especially when he said "To be reborn as a nekomata and even celebrated, makes me so happy." I just teared up reading that.

Yup! Caught me by surprise and knowing that he says how he's been reincarnated as a nekomata and that he's happy, makes me think that Eren got a second chance at life. It just made my eyes water

I am a simple One Piece fan, if I see a Straw Hat, I click.
