It doesn't feel right if it's not Gintoki. How do I explain... His voice physically looks like Gintoki. It feels like Gintoki is actually the one voicing those other characters, just for fun. I can never unhear it. Sugita's voice has a silver soul, and that's all there is to it.

Just like Daniel Radcliffe has played lots of other roles since HP ended, but in our hearts, he'll always be Harry Potter the wizard of Hogwarts. Well, Sugita is forever Sakata Gintoki of the Yorozuya! 😁

I know comedy is his thing, but i'm kinda sad he doesn't do more serious roles. He and the guy who voices the protagonist of Bakemonogatari are the only ones i've seen that can pull "speech moments" so epicly. I really loved his work in the Haruhi movie.

Sakata gintoki was literally the only anime character in the world that was brought to life..lyk he really felt alive all thanks to Sugita-san .when a VA fits in perfectly with his role ..it's magical✌️

After Gintama, every Sugita role is basically Gintoki trying to screw up anime by infiltrating the studio and stole a VA role.

It's almost biblical how they choose the perfect VA for Gintoki. It's as if his soul is in complete synch with Gintoki's. Whenever you hear those characters like Hidenori, Joseph Joestar, Rudeus etc. It feels like Gintoki's voicing them, not just Sugita San. And That's really incredible and awesome, a rarity of its own. Since Gintama is well known for parodying other anime, I always feel like it's Sakata Gintoki voicing the characters instead of Sugita san.
