It's by a Finnish band Apocalyptica who play metal using cellos and drums. The original song from a couple years ago was called "Rise" and it was an instrumental. Now there's a new version called "Rise Again" and this time it has Simone singing. This song really showcases her amazing vocals very well. And she also looks like a goddess! Apocalyptica & Epica - Rise Again (Official Video) * the music video is a bit weird, so please just focus on music. 🙃

Honestly, I believe he is thinking of his girl when he sings songs like this. She does film some of the videos, so he probably is singing directly to her sometimes. He's such an expressive person, and he really immerses himself in performance, it's just a joy to see.

I performed this song as the vocalist with a few friends for my HS SR assembly back in 1988.... sadly its on VHS and that would like 320p on youtube.

I wasn’t all that familiar with Steelheart either, but I do remember this song, and the super high vocals. I think Steelheart may have been a little late into the game, falling into hair metal genre around the time it started to fade out and transition to more grunge. I was shocked when I heard a commercial on the radio last year for a concert they were doing. I guess they had a 30th anniversary concert here in Dallas last summer, and it appears they are doing more shows this coming summer. And it’s okay to replay your paperboy-pining past every now and then.
