A friend of mine came visiting, I remember spending a lot of time playing records with back in the day. We came across this video and I pointed out to him Mike fooling around behind Tommy, because he was playing a six string bass. My friend was cracking up so bad and kept hitting replay and cracking up some more. It was hysterical, like being back at summer camp! 😀

I was a kid during the 60's. They were huge. Tommy was a great writer and musician surrounded by superb musicians. There music along with others like 1910 Fruitgum Company actually found it's way into later acts like the Cars , Elvis Costello and other New Wave groups so it dd have influence and impact. I wish the RNRHOF would see that. Anyway REM covered " Draggin the Line " . Bill Idol did " Mony Mony " . Joan Jett who was Inducted and brought Tommy with her made a hit out of " Crimson and Clover" . Tommy penned those . He also wrote an Auto called " Me, the Mob , and the Music ' which was about his label being a Mafia outfit complete with Goombata hangout and everything. It was listed as Fourteenth best RNR BIo by Rolling Stone . Rumor has it that Martin Scorcese has been interested in it. Still Tommy has lotsa great music. Check out Kathleen MacArthur !

"I Think We're Alone Now" is also a recent upload on my channel, Ron. These guys were never big over here in the UK, but I figure they should have been.

Thanks, yes TJ & The Shondells had a lot of great songs! Tommy James is still touring in the U.S. and has a new album coming out soon. He also has a movie about his life due out in a year or two and possibly a Broadway play about his life! Take care, Ron
