I’m 64 years old & I believe this message is for some of us in the senior crowd. Have been a Christian for a long time but always struggled with my place in “ Churchianity “. Listening to Tommy brought me to understanding my space & owning it. A few weeks ago , God brought my attention to Holy Name. It came up on my KZread feed. Tommy’s & the band’s passion resonated so strongly with me! Yes, praise is at times so passionate it can be described as violent. David danced so before the Ark of Covenant! We will one day dance upon the head of injustice! Warrior on!

Such a good interview. I love Sleeping Giant but didn’t really know a lot about Tommy. When Tommy said “Miracles can not accomplish what love was designed to do. If we are going to use power so we don’t have to love, we are missing it.” This hit me hard.

The whole thing about miracles and simply being there for others in love, Christ's love, speaks so much into the ministry and encounters I have with people. I think supernatural is necessary but nothing beats a genuine love for others.

The passion behind the music can bring the joyful noise and the presence of the holy spirit but most do not understand that type of praise. I love Tommy Green for his spiritual walk with Christ. I saw Sleeping Giant back in 2012 in Dayton Ohio at Scream The Prayer Tour and Tommy preached in the middle of the set. Me and my son was so blessed by his passion.

About 3 years ago as of now, I was in this class (where no one was really doing anything) and I was on YT and I was thinking about how the band skillet was rumored to be Christian but no one was really sure. I decided to look up "christian rock" just to see if that genre actually existed, and not just as a lowkey "are they/are they not?" First song that plays in that playlist: Sleeping Giant - Tithemi Ever since then SG has been my absolute favorite band. I'm constantly getting looks and whispers bc of how I'm dressed bc regardless of it, Jesus Christ is still my Lord and Saviour. Yeah I like Nirvana and SOAD, but those bands feel absolutely empty compared to SG; their songs have helped me to love and look for Christ more and feel included too Love you Tommy GBU, miss Sleeping Giant 🙏🙏

I been into hardcore since hearing INTEGRITY "SEASONS..." in 1997. Tommy just described my life exactly. I was a throw away and thrash, punk, hardcore, death and black metal spoke to the sorrow and rage I felt. And when I found God I trusted the church and they just went and did to me what was done to me that got me into dark heavy intense music in the first place. I walked away from the church 10 years ago because they don't listen. But at the same time to refuse to hear is to reject. I'm not begging for love from anyone. I have more INTEGRITY than to beg from people who do a lot of love bombing and flapping their gums but they never actual listen. They don't care what you think or have to say. Love listens. "He who has ears let him hear..." God listens. If you have God on the inside you have an ear to listen. If you don't then you won't. And from my experience Pentecostals were by far the absolute worst. The level of love bombing Pentecostals do is straight up demonic. Exactly what narcissists do. IDEALIZE, DEVALUE, DISCARD. Make you feel so good about yourself, so loved and accepted, and then they'll turn around and make you feel the worst emotional pain you've ever felt. And you'll sitting there thinking "What did I do?" wondering what went wrong. And the answer is nothing. You didn't show all the signs of becoming a steady stream of narcissistic supply cause you dared to think for yourself and read scripture for yourself and you asked questions that made the preacher feel a little less "called" than he likes to portray himself. For me that is what the D.I.Y. ethic of punk instilled in me. To never let the group control my mind thoughts and cause me to cease to be myself but to be swallowed up into the herd mind of the collective. To ,me that is what demonic possession is. The spirit of the herd trying to control an individual mind body and soul. But for real, I would rather go worship God in a whorehouse than ever do it in a Pentecostal church or any other ever again. I have zero faith whatsoever in the church. Absolutely none. I will not bow to the herd. And I will not give up my power to it to do its will which is to possess the individual to bow to it and give up it's power to it. To erase individual perception of the inner self and replace it with "We are many."

Oh my gosh, I just heard about Holy Name. This video was suggested under one of their songs I've been listening to on repeat, Fall on Your Knees. And I couldn't vibe more with a lead singer/person/Jesus lover! I am pumped! Feeling amped up as it did in my peak hardcore/metal days. Everything he's saying about the hardcore scene, about pain & passion, about subculture, about how the mainstream tries to make Christianity exist in this very narrow box, the different types of praise, just everything about this is so refreshing & necessary. Jesus is for EVERYONE!

Right on too many pharisees this is why I serve at home it is lonely but it did not start with anyone for me except God but it's sad that religion rules the buildings here called church never realizing they are the church. I watch preaching on youtube everyday not just sundays. I was raised in a church that wanted us to burn our music crazy religious spirit wins more souls for hell than any other spirit. I have a book on Amazon under my pen name kimber renee called hells hallways totally inspired by Holy Spirit the religious would stone me for this book but it is my obedience and way to introduce ppl to the true Jesus not the religious Jesus the church has conjured. I am chasing the dream to be a successful author in the faith fight everyday for it. I would be flattered if you would check it out it's powerful and I wish all sinners could have this. Again keep using your craft and rocking JESUS!

@@reggiejenkins6458 that's why the religious pharisees were only ones jesus spoke harshly to. Its not about religion it is about relationship. He did not die for us to have a religion but a relationship with him father and holy spirit and many many other things. Religion will never get you into heaven only Jesus will get you into heaven. Jesus said to the religious you all are like white washed tombs beautiful on outside but full of dead men's bones and every impurity. God rejected the religious prayer and honored the sinners prayer. I do not need a Bible lesson I have been in it everyday for over half my life and I have had RELATIONSHIP with God since I was 4.

@@christalkelley6382 the Pharisees were the only ones he spoke harshly to? You need to read your Bible dude. He literally even called his close followers Satan when they disagreed with him (telling Peter “Get behind me Satan!”). Mt 16:23 You’re also conveniently ignoring the fact that while Jesus did criticize the hypocrisy of the Pharisees, he also told his followers to honor and obey their instructions- “So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.” Mt 23:3 Religion is just a term to describe a relationship with God/the supernatural. Claiming to “a follower of Jesus” or whatever other duncey modern American term is just a way to virtue signal that “I’m Christian, but I’m way better than all those other Christians”. It’s judgemental, and obnoxious, and manipulative.

I'm ending this right now it's amazing to me how people even argue about the bible I was only responding I'm not judging I'm stating facts I grew up in a religious church and live in a religious town. The religious spirit quenches the holy spirit and I'm not a dude. Everyone has an opinion and obviously we disagree but we do have one thing in common we love Jesus and are trying to navigate in this wicked world so let's leave it at that. I'm not wasting my time arguing and would never throw insults at you bc of your opinion. I hope you have a good day and God bless you

I understand he called him Satan but he was referring to Satan in him trying to stop plan of God. He never called the hated tax collectors vipers or the woman caught in adultery as a matter of fact the religious wanted to stone her and our sweet Jesus saved her I'm so very thankful he sees our hearts and is merciful

Tommy Green is great. Holy Name is great. Going into bars or GenZ hangouts is not even close to Missions. Don't get it twisted.
