I love how he stood up for himself to Tommy. Even with his family & himself under threat of death. Tom knew he was telling the truth

I don't think he was cool with Alfie. He did go to Margate to the beach to kill Alfie after all. I think Tommy knew that Alfie was incredibly protected by the Jewish community and he sided with Alfie's people over Sabini's in the second season. But at I agree, Alfie got away with a lot.
In Tommy’s mind, you’re either his friend or his enemy. There is no middle ground.

This is the sad reality of life. You are either part of the solution, or part of the problem.

I don't think Thomas is a good man but he is perceived better than the other criminals. He's a rootable anti-hero if anything
0:13 it’s scenes like these that had me convinced Cillian Murphy was like 6’2 cos the aura he’s giving off as he walks it too intimidating
Tommy is wrongly seen as a hero by many people but he treats the working man like shit.

It’s a dirty business. But we’ve never seen Tommy hurt anybody’s family. He wanted to kill Mrs. Changretta, but that’s because he was insane w grief and anger over Grace. And the only other time was when he whacked out the gypsies in the woods when the witch cursed the sapphire and killed Ruby, the whole reason he kept this guy here was he knew the guy was being honest, and he needs honest men working for him too

@@JoeSmith-dl9ok ‘he only massacred a whole group in a village’ what about the train workers? And the referee? Kid Arthur beat to death? They don’t really care about any working people.

Same as Tony Soprano in Sopranos series. 90% of people watched that series were obsessed with main character, saying how cool and great he was, while ignoring the fact that he was greedy, selfish narcissist who was pushing others with his narcissistic morals , trying to teach moral lessons to people around him(like the scene where he pushed 2 guys not to go over personal issues with guy who was trolling their mothers and making sick jokes, Tony said that you shouldn't go personal , it's bad for business! only later to get emotional and ki lling same guy over the horse, while losing the guy who was bringing the most money to him or another example where he was preaching morals to his kids and friends about being loyal to wife and don't cheat, while he himself was barely showing any attention to his wife and seeing/sleeping with bunch of other girls all the time), yet all the fans of series ignored those facts and just blindly preached him. I'd say that authors just trying to show so-called "Moral grey" , that not every main hero is saint nor he is pure evil. There's always balance. It's pretty much the same as a line from True Detective series: " Do you ever wondered you're a bad man?-No! World needs bad men! We keep the other bad men from the door"

@@kb4903 What does the kid Arthur beat, in a PTSD fueled blackout, have to do with Tommy? He tried to stop the train bombing but got word to Finn too late and the referee was a witness to their soccer-rigging scheme. If you're gonna admonish a character, stay on point.
I liked how in the end, he still looked out for Devlin and Frances
Oppenheimer was Easy, compared to the Acting in Peaky Blinders. You would never know Cillian Murphy is a Timid, Humble Guy...He transforms into the Anti-Hero/BadAss of Thomas Shelby.

Tommy's Office, Westminster House of Commons, Westminster Winson Green Prison, Birmingham Midland Hotel, Birmingham Inkberrow Hotel, Stratford-upon-Avon And the series 4 Hospital interior.

Has also been used in Emmerdale (1972-present), The ABC Murders (2018), Downton Abbey (2019), Jay's Yorkshire Workshop (2021), and Bodies (2023). It's also apparently been used in Gold (2018) and Gentleman Jack (2019-2022), however I'm pretty certain they didn't go inside, and just filmed outside on Hick Street and surrounding streets, like many many more productions have done. Will also most likely be appearing in Six Triple Eight (2024) and Virdee (2024) which will both be out in the next 12 months.
