Well said!!
Absolutely one of my top 5 favorite movies!! Love The entire cast! Kilmer was robbed! He should’ve won an Oscar for this part! ❤
I got to see a convention panel once with Michael Biehn (Johnny Ringo). He talked alot about his final showdown with Doc Holliday and how the director basically called him and Val Kilmer (Doc) over and said "You guys work it out. I'll film it." All the beats and moves were just worked out by Ringo and Doc.

That was on KZread somewhere right?
While the story may have been romanticized for the movies sake the story was true. The Earp brothers, Doc Holiday, Creek Johnson, etc are real historical figures. The gunfight at the OK corral happened. Wyatt & Doc are both incredibly interesting historic western figures.

Powers Booth did a great job as Curly Bill. There are surviving pictures of the real Curly Bill and, while Mr. Booth is a little more handsome, there truly is a striking resemblance.
Doc's comment when he's in the hospital bed about to die he says " I'll be damned this is funny" he was referring to dieing barefoot he always thought he die with his boots on. It's said he actually did say something like that.
Tuberculosis was a Death sentence back then. Doc Contracted it when he was a Teen while taking care of his Mother who died of it. Docs woman knew he was living on borrowed time and since there was nothing that could be done, she wanted to make his days the happiest she could.

.... And his Nights!
An epic western with an epic ensemble cast: Kurt Russell, Michael Biehn, Val Kilmer, Jason Priestley, Billy Zane, Jon Tenney, Stephen Lang, Dana Delaney, Billy Bob Thornton, Thomas Haden Church, Powers Booth, Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton, Terry O'Quinn, Joanna Pacula, and Charlton Heston. Narrated by Robert Mitchum.

My favorite western! Great cast with Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer leading the way! Glad you enjoyed it!
Everyone needs a friend like Doc
Emma, the little “medicine” bottle that Maddie was drinking constantly was Laudanum. It was a syrup consisting of Codeine & Opium (Morphine.) and they sold it over the counter in all pharmacies.
As i've gotten older I started to really appreciate the western genre more and more. Great reactions!
If you ever see an actual old photograph of the real Wyatt Earp, Kurt Russell really looks a lot like him. Of all the movies made about Wyatt Earp and Tombstone this one is considered to be the most historically accurate. The biggest difference is that I believe there were 2 more Earp brothers that were there along with Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp.

They just didn't partake in the fight at the okay Corral
❤❤❤ Nicely done, Emma. Place is real, this story is basically true just dramatized for our entertainment. The OK corral gunfight is best depicted in this movie. Several iterations have been made. Most contemporary was Kevin Costner's WYATT EARP. Wyatt's wives, other than his first, mostly of the common law or shacked up variety. The main gunfight was terrifying. Nine men, one with a shotgun, thirty seconds, thirty shots, in a space the size of a two car garage, only THREE died. Wyatt taught young John Wayne how to be a cowboy. Crazy!

@@Caseytify actually there is a lot of Truth in that story. Especially a lot of the quotes. A lot of it may have been overdramatized, but a lot of the events depicted happened. Though McMasters, Michael Rucker character, was never killed

Good eye Steve. Wyatt Earp and I were volunteers at Pioneer Living History Museum in Phoenix, Arizona we used to reenact the gunfight between Warren Earp (Youngest of the Earp brothers) and my ancestor Johnny Boyette who killed him..
Having met Val Kilmer and getting a epic autograph, and Michael Biehn...I love this movie.
Tombstone is still an active town in southern Arizona... Its touristy but still fun. A couple of the buildings from this timeframe are still there. Great reaction as always Emma ❤

Yep the town too tough to die
Kilmer (Doc Holiday) should have won an Oscar for this one. If you want to see more of Kilmer try "Willow" or "Top Gun". My three favorite westerns are "The Cowboys" (John Wayne), "Once upon a time in the West" (Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda, Jason Robards and Claudia Cardinale) and "Silverado" (very large, famous, cast). Thanks for understanding the country as it was just 150 years ago.

The gun fight; when they go to disarm the Cowboys is the famous Gun Fight at the OK Corral. In the scene when the Earp's are leaving town. You can see the sign for the OK Corral.
Wyatt’s first woman takes LAUDANUM, a tincture of opium.
Dances with wolves is another great western. Also, any western starring Clint Eastwood.

Thank Kurt Russell. Apparently he ghost directed the film behind the scenes.
Another good western to react to is “Unforgiven” starring Clint Eastwood & Morgan Freeman.
I lived in the Rocky Mountain states for a while, and there are places where the Old West still exists. One horse towns that become fifty horse towns on the weekends when the ranch hands come into town to drink ;) When they make beef illegal there'll still be ranches in Wyoming 🤠
Glad to see you've discovered westerns, it was THE dominant genre for 4 or 5 decades. There are hundreds of classics and it will be fun to see them, vicariously, through fresh eyes (yours!)
Tombstone Arizona was great tourist experience. And, still looks like it does in this movie 👌

The Bird Cage still has all the original bullet holes.
Val kilmer, who played Doc Holiday, is one of the most incredible actors. He was such an amazing singer. You should watch "The Doors" where he portrays Jim Morrison and actually sang everything you hear in the movie. What's truly amazing is that the band members of The Doors couldn't really tell whether Jim or Val was singing. Another that's great to watch is the comedy called "Top Secret!" Where he's an American rock and roll singer in east Germany for a festival but gets caught up in a rescue mission. You'd get to see him sing a few songs.
Try “The outlaw Josey Wales” I think you will love it. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Emma, it was a pleasure once again.✌️🤩👍 This western is one of my favorites, especially because Val Kilmer as doc Holliday is just awesome 🔫🤠 Greets and cheers from the streets of Europe 🇭🇷 MIK
Fun Fact I live in Arizona and we can carry firearms either openly or concealed almost anywhere. But you still cannot carry a gun in Tombstone.
R.I.P. bill paxton love him
If you end up going to Tombstone you could go to the Bird Cage Theater which is a museum and it’s still in its original condition. There’s also the location where the gun fight happened but there’s a lot of history at Tombstone.
The Narration was done by veteran Western actor Robert Mitchum, one of the greatest in history. His career spanned five decades. Another Western film? How about the first reaction to Quigley Down Under?
Wyatt's wife was taking laudanum. It was used back in the 1800's for a variety of problems: sleep loss, pain relief, etc. It was a mixture of opium and alcohol, and sometimes other things, and was as addictive and potentially dangerous as it sounds.
37:21 I had forgotten. Charlton Heston. Now there's an impressive cameo.
If anyone here likes this era, I recommend Louis L'Amour books. He was a very good writer and died at his peak of storytelling. He wrote page turning books.
The gunfight at the ok corral was real ( Of course in The movie it was exaggerated and made more dramatic by Hollywood.) and happened on October 26th, 1881 at approximately 3pm! 😎 RIP 🪦 Powers Booth! One of my favorite actors that died 6 years ago! 😢
Wyatt Earp lived long enough to show up in silent movies. He told the story of the OK Corral and never changed his version of events, though it is likely both sides exaggerated the truth in their favor.
Emma - As you really enjoyed this one I think you would adore Hidalgo. It stars the actor who played Aragorn in Lord of the Rings and is loosely based on a true story about a half white, half native american who travels to the Arabian desert to compete in a 3000 mile horse race.
Silverado would be another good western for you. Large epic cast, good story, pretty scenery

If you ever get a chance to visit Tombstone definitely do it. It's a fun cowboy town to visit. See the saloons and watch the daily shows in the streets and the theater. Also Kevin Costner did a Wyatt Earp movie that's pretty good
You need to watch "Gunfight at the Ok corral" with Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster. It's the best one. There's always a forerunner.
Some of the actual lines in the film are taken from newspapers from the 1800's. Especially, Doc's lines.
Doc Holiday was one of the fastest gun fighters in the west Such a great film of some legends of the west
If you're ever in the southwestern U.S. you should visit the town of Tombstone.

This is a true story of 1881 Arizona. Doc died in 1887 in Colorado.
“Roman Holiday” - Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn
Best western ever. This movie is definitely in my Top 5! In my opinion, Val Kilmer (Doc Holliday) made this movie. Great reaction! 👍
Curly Bill was intoxicated from smoking opium when he shot the Marshal.
True story
Tombstone is my favorite movie. HEART is my favorite group.
Being called a liar was a truly serious offense/accusation in those days. Dueling was technically legal to dispute issues
Some great Westerns. The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, Shanghai Noon (comedy action Western with Jackie Chan), The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward, Robert Ford.

Great Reaction! You may like these westerns "Django" "True Grit (2010)" The Hateful Eight" "The Revenant" "3:10 to Yuma (2010)" "Unforgiven" "Dead Man" "Rango"!!!
My favorite line in any movie, is when Doc says, "I'll be damned, this is funny". This is right after looking at his bare feet, after a lifetime of saying, "I'll die with my boots on".
Two more great westerns to check out, are, High Plains Drifter, and The Outlaw Josey Wales. Great job.
june 23rd-25th, 2023 in tombstone az will be the 30th anniversary of the movie with numerous actors going to be there.
Tombstone, very cool experience and beautiful country, if you like desert.
Hands down my favorite "western" ever made
Emma, Come down to Tucson and I'll take you to Tombstone. They put on a show of the actual shootout.
If you go to Tombstone today, much of the old town has been preserved, or re-built. A lot of income from tourism.
Maybe the best cast ever ? Maddie is downing raw opium which was prescribed by doctors back then. Or you could just pop into the Chinese tents outside of town like Curly Bill did and get raw opium straight out of the pipe !

Westworld from 1973 is another one to check out.
I think you would love young guns it's a western with a lot of young stars "the brat pack" Emilio Estevez, Charley Sheen, Lou Diamond Phillips, Kiether Sutherland to name a few
One of the best western movies ever !
Lonesome Dove is my favorite western. Tombstone is a very good movie though, and definitely in my top 10.
Wyatt's wife is addicted to the drip Laudum. It was a pain killer back then.
Love this movie. Probably in my top 3 of all time
Doc was disappointed that he didn't die with his boots on.
Good cowboy movie.
Great movie. Val Kilmer is fantastic as Doc. The entire cast are fab but Kilmer steals the show.
This is a re-make of "Hour of the Gun," 1967 with some romantic bits added.
I recommend more Westerns, like the classic "High Noon" and the epic "Silverado"! Subsctibed.

Not to toot my own horn but, I'm one of the hombres who made all the gun belts, holsters, spur straps, and knife sheaths for this movie. Wyatt Earp too. I still do...
Hey Emma really enjoying you experiencing the things. Now that you're into Western this will be fun. Tombstone is in my top 10 favorites of all time. If you really want an emotional roller coaster set in the American West. You need to watch dances with wolves. It is one of my favorite films of all time. Action love adventure and it won seven academy awards. You need to watch this film. And I need to to watch you watch this film. ❤️💚☘️🇺🇦
I always think of Doc as the “Pale Horse” in the prophecy from Revelation.
In real life Wyatt and Maddie were never married. They just lived together.
44:24 There is a movie about Tom Mix and Wyatt Earp meeting.
Enjoy the movie. But remember this is based Loosely on true American history. Many of the characters actually existed in the old west as Robert Mitchum mentioned in the introduction. Hollywood's definition of history is a story. This is American history read about it. This is how the United States was won and became a law-abiding civilization. Tom Mix another movie star over 290 movies. He was friends with Wyatt Earp.
34:14 *_WHOO WHOO!_* 34:24
Some great Westerns from John Wayne are The Searchers and Red River. Usually Wayne plays a hero type cowboy in his movies but those two are very shades of grey. Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven is a must see.
It's foggy and chilly up here on the mountain but today Emma brings a little sunshine ;) BTW the story the movie tells is basically true--
Try Robert Duvall... Check out movie name.. broken trail or open range.. if you want to watch an excellent series try lonesome Dove..
Open Range…. for the next western!
I like to think when doc died and said, oh wow this is funny. He saw a light.
Supposedly the movie captured real life Wyatt Earp perfectly; Equal parts saint and sinner. A true badass.
If you liked Val as doc Holliday you will love him in. Real genius, top secret, and for sure in Willow as madmardigan.
Open Range is another good one
