the climbing (ignoring some of the bugs) and acrobatics were easily the best in Underworld. sooo fun. i'm still mad they took that part of her character away for the reboots, miss making lara do olympic-level acrobatics during fights just to look cool

the reboot series didn't even gave her the classic gymnast style. i just hope in the future reboot they will bring back her OG character trait. sassy, confident, optimistic and acrobatic femme fatale that is sorely missed over a decades now.

why y'all need a gymnastic game. Imo Lara Croft is in a good state now. Similarly people are yelling to make assassins creed game a "parkour game"...pfft (I play TR to have fun of adventure, survival that of a strong lady. Not to play circus and gymnastics lol).

@@edwardkenway6341 Are you daft? Nobody said anything about a "gymnastics game".The gymnastics and acrobatics are cool and part of the appeal. They were part of what made Lara Croft... Lara Croft. All she does now is climb up things and fall all cliffs, rooftops, ledges, cry about everything, then you slowly climb back up. Oh and you sneak around and shoot people with a bow and arrow and craft things. She's so cool now! "I play TR to have fun of adventure, survival that of a strong lady." And it It sounds like you've only played the survivor trilogy because the TR games were always that.

@@edwardkenway6341 The current incarnation of Lara is often considered by fans to be a largely different character due to her characterization and the way the levels are less formatted to emphasize level-based puzzles and traversal, and more-so in line with current industry standards for 3rd person shooters with a light focus on RPG mechanics. I think Rise of The Tomb Raider and Shadow of The Tomb Raider feel closer to the older style and tone of the series compared to Tomb Raider 2013, and the new game currently in development is a great opportunity to bring the feel of older Tomb Raider titles back through new animations and music.

Legend had a lot of action for a Tomb Raider game, but I think it was the most polished of the trilogy. Of course graphics were better in Underworld

Great video! When compared like this, it’s so obvious that the survivor trilogy lacks in every aspect. Tomb raider is about platforming and puzzle solving, not combat and gathering resources. I mean just look at that pathetic jump in 2013 🤦🏼‍♀️

ik this is really nitpicky but i realllyy didnt like how the climbing up animation looked in the reboot. the general shimmying and jumping from ledge to ledge was fine but the way she was throwing her leg over and hugging the ground while climbing up was irritating me for some reason 😭like ik its more realistic to climb up like that but if you're gonna make her double jump on walls knowing that you cant do that in real life then at least give her a good looking climbing up animation too even if it might look unrealistic

Shadow and Anniversary to me are the best, to all who saying that the gymnastics and stuff need to understand that in the new games Lara is very young and naive, she building the woman she became later, i just only hope they make a new game showing this evolution, to make sense.

Despite Tomb Raider Legend being my most favorite since childhood, all Tomb Raider games are pure gold in my book. The more Tomb Raider, the better. If there is something someone doesn't like then thankfully there are mods to tweak to your liking. I love it

@@Johnnyweavs any of the last games really, especially Rise. Even if you managed to remove the scripted cutscenes or events, you'd still end up with a map that is supposed to be broken or you're supposed to get teleported etc.... The game and the story are built that way, after all...

@@Speed4RunsThat's a shame. I have tested some mods on the Survivor Trilogy such as Legend of the Tomb Raider among others and they seem to function correctly with minor errors. I am still pretty optimistic since we have AI tools and reverse engineering the game is also a possibility. I may give it a try as a side project one of these days or port the game onto another engine so that I can do whatever I want with it like people have done with the very first Tomb Raider. I have also seen someone port Tomb Raider Legend to Unreal Engine 5, but I don't know what's going on with that project right now. What would you like to see in particular for Rise? Dual pistol mechanics or models swaps? It is a shame it has to be that way, but at least we now have that Tomb Raider Remaster that came out earlier this February. That is an infinitely better step in the right direction for Tomb Raider if you ask me. If they release another remaster and a Legend Trilogy Remaster, then that would literally leave the Survivor Trilogy in the dark in my opinion lol

LAU (Legend) trilogy isn't better when it comes to puzzle and platforming than Survivor one. Core (original) games yes, much better, but Survivor games often had more open areas, and more exploration, than LAU ones.

Underworld is literally empty. Like theres almost no enemies in the game. Also Lara’s attitude changes drastically from Legend. Legend’s story also was much more developed. The characters had more role in story. To each their own. But I do think that from the legend trilogy timeline, underworld is the least polished. Still a great game! 👍

If you split the 2 trilogies separately L A U / TR R S they start off good but get better as they go along. And they save the best till last.

is the TR Legend a 2024 remastered or something ? it looks so clean & High resolution. other gameplays that Ive seen are blurry & dark.

I loved Shadow, despite jumping and climbing at the same time was a little hard for me and ended up many times falling to the void, lol.

The only thing i like in new trilogy compare to legend trilogy is how lara climb. In original tr she never done crazy acrobacits (only in cheonicles but she did that move 2 or 3times during game). I think cristal shoud go back to basic if it comes to lara and gameplay. First they should play original TR1 2. Check levels design. Create orginal twisted story not bs wirh family and other nonsenses we saw in games in movies 1000 times. And mostly errase reboot lara from history forewer including her stupid bow and bring back original lara wirh flavor of legend one( i think they made it in underworld)

I Have Tomb Raider legend and Tomb Raider Anniversary on PS2 they Are Very Good games to play. I use to Have Tomb Raider Underworld I throw it in the trash. Because was a Sorry Game to play. I Haven't play Any of the reboot yet.
