I watched your guy's Tomb Raider commentaries several times and they were all so fun to watch even though their such old vids. So its nice to see you guys excited for the Tomb Raider 1 to 3 Remaster

It was fun to see the characters' heads shaking to simulate speaking since the mouth wasn't animated, it was a distinctive trait of the old Tomb Raider, a bit like in Zelda where to save dubbing voices the characters only make noises

​@@theendisnear1131i watched some other KZreadr, and they had a different opinion on that. he said they cutscenes might not be there, but i can't see them getting rid of them. if anything they might update them for the HD option, but considering you'll have two modes to choose from, classic and HD, the cutscenes on the HD might have some tweaks to make them look more animated. but the in game dialog, those were pre rendered. like the one with Larsen, the lips don't move in the original, but how they would go about doing in game dialog on the HD side, that might be what gets updated, but i think the actual cutscenes will stay the same on both. people are worried about the gameplay, and after the GTA HD debacle i can understand. but in fairness, that was more of a cashgrab on Rockstar's part. we didn't know anything a Tomb Raider remastered collection until now, things were quiet for awhile after Shadow of the Tomb Raider came and went, and then we heard Square selling off the franchise.

@@Jeymez Objectively it looks like a medium-low budget remaster. Lara doesn't even gnash her teeth when she shoots and if things stay the same I'm afraid her face won't be animated at all in the in-game cutscenes. Anyway the lightings and textures look pretty nice, they use a good AI upscaler. Someone say that there is already fanmade like this, but i never seen a TRLE good as this trailer. Just i hope is moddable, so fan can fix what is missing

Having fully analogue controls through COULD work but only if it's restricted to the joysticks and the D-pad is the one where you lock Lara in to the 4 directions. Also, I'm playing the Tomb Raider games on Steam right now and I can contest that it's ok on Steam, if you want to use a controller, just click on the "controller layout" on the game's Library page and load up a preset and aside from some minor distant texure issues and how pressing back and action button at the same time open's the windows menu, it works just fine.

They actually did do something like that on the Sega Dreamcast ports. It sorta works but you still gotta get used to it.

I agree about the classic controls, they were precise, but mass streamlined market said platforms games have to be fast and smooth so Crystal Dynamics had Lara jumping and grappling like she was spiderman. Personally I could never get into the crystal dynamics TRs because of how radically they change Lara movement.

I'm so excited about the remasters! Tomb Raider 1, 2, and 3 were a major part of my childhood, so I'm thrilled that they're (finally) getting the remaster treatment. As you guys mentioned, it does look as though some of the trailer footage is unfinished, as some of the textures look untouched from the originals (the bit of water we see, and the lava in Atlantis being some of the more egregious examples). But I have high hopes, as we're still several months from its release. I'm glad we'll finally be able to play the expansion packs on consoles. From what I've heard on some official sites, there will be a way to toggle the controls to a more modern scheme if the player wishes. But overall, I'm just glad we're essentially getting remasters AND ports in one collection, so we no longer have to jump through hoops to get the Steam and GOG versions to run properly on PC!

So am I 🎉 Can t wait.. I remember when the first came out 1996. I was 10 years old and my uncle bought the first lot of PlayStation.. I'm now 37 years old now and still like these games.. So Thank you..

Very excited to see the original 3 games plus the PC exclusive levels getting the remaster treatment c: If it does well I would love to see 4-6 get the treatment as well! This was quite a surprise to see on the Nintendo Direct a few weeks ago but it's exciting to see this finally happening! For controls I could see them doing the approach that the Crash and Spyro remasters did. With those you had the choice of using the analog stick or the D-pad still so perhaps they might follow that approach too. ^^ Overall very excited to see this! :)

To be fair. Tomb Raider 6, Nagel of Darkness would need a remake. XD

Just pre-purchased Tomb Raider I-III Remastered yesterday night on Steam for PC. That's why the day after (today!) I am seeking infos on the whole thing on the net, and I have found you and this very video. It's been the first time ever I even bought something in pre-purchase mode, I hope I did well, but talking about Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3 (and hopefully 4, 5 and perhaps even 6 in the future) blew my mind, just like it happened when those titles came out in late nineties (gosh, I was almost thirty years old at the time!), so all in all I have absolutely no regrets about the pre-purchase, except now finding myself in the forced condition of having to wait - which is something that I definitely hate. I am a big fan of TR games, expecially the old classics which, all considered, almost officially started my (hopefully endless) journey into the world of gaming (although I was on Macs at that time, while now I am on a powerful gaming PC, but needless to say, I use it just for games). As mentioned, havin to wait something like four months in the future, is driving me crazy. My intention was really to somehow alleviate this pain watching this video. Hence, thank you. You've been very helpful. :)

It probably wouldn't be dlc. It would probably be a another collection. I would hope so anyways. Only time will tell.

In my opinion, the new controls should be like the current ones in motion, but the movement of the small jump away is with a button, such as a trigger. Free camera with right analog, that has the option to walk with a specific button. Walking and running with analogue could lead you to fall into cornices.

It's not just you man, playing Tomb Raider 4 is so effin dark 😵 messed me up with so many many dark areas 😅 it's a challenge but I'm enjoying my adventure so far!

I wonder why the 4th isn't on there, I haven't really played it much outside of the beginning (I don't really have the time also), but the story has always intrigued me.

I’m guessing they are testing waters with 1-3 and if they make enough money they will add 4&5 as DLC.

Totally agree..would of loved if they did exactly what resident evil team does. One year a remake, next year a new game, year after another remake,back and forth until all the old games are remade. And when we get to tomb raider 4 remake it would be awesome if they made a new level editor so fans can make current gen levels on all platforms. That’s the dream..but unless embracer group gets rid of the person making all the decisions at crystal dynamics I don’t see proper remakes happening. At least we get remasters for now!

I still remember the last segment inside of the pyramid on TR1 when you've climbed what feels like forever nearing the top, and missing the jump, it's 3 death screams high! and the sudden splat into the lava 😅 or standing on top of the Midas hand and turning into gold (so shiny) gosh I miss these games, I can't wait to play them again, bit disappointed it's just Digital tho, I'd pay more to own it physically, man just thinking of the memories and stories of the OG trilogy, I've got heaps, it's cool to hear you both talk about the game, take care till the next vid 👍

I saw the update and looks absolutely GORGEOUS. The way a Remaster should be. And soooo Faithful to the Originals. And for us Trophy 🏆 hunters out there, there is OVER 200 of them, including one for Locking 🔒 Winston in the Freezer lol Aspyr have been Listen and reading comments. So many people were asking for that Trophy lol This is EXACTLY what l wanted. I just really HOPE The Last Revelations and Chronicles and Angel of Darkness gets this EXACT Remastered treatment on a Collection Volume 2. The Last Revelations was the BEST one, and alot of peoples favourite one..

The physical copy appears to be happening. I believe crystal dynamic is focusing on the new tomb raider game. It was confirmed sometime ago in a video by them that a new game is happening in unreal engine 5. Very excited for it and this 1-3 remastered. I really hope this physical copy is real. Play Asia. I definitely want it for switch and ps5

I would be okay with a polished verison of Angel of Darkness if they don't wanna remake it. That game basically did what Uncharted did and other modern before it was thought of.

What if the two collections do so oh well, they give the original Laura new games

I'm glad someone else thinks the same that we need to get back to the original style Lara Croft. Crystal Dynamics has been doing too much with the underwhelming version of the survivor Lara Croft and style of game

Doubt we will see Angel of Darkness but 4 and 5 are given, there's to much wrong with AoD that a simple remaster just can't fix, AoD needs a full remake. The reason why Aspyr probably didn't include 4 and 5 in this collection is cause they run on a different engine that would require a separate remastering. As for the Remaster vs Remake debate I see it simple, a Remaster is a the same game with the same assets just touched up and ported to newer platform, a Remake is the same game with little to none changes and all the assets are redone from scratch, and obviously re imagining is just the whole game redone with everything different except the main story points.
