Tomato Hornworm: Remove off the plant as soon as you see DAMAGE!!!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Tomato hornworms are larvae of the nocturnal sphinx or hawk moth. Hornworms feed on nightshades, love tomato plants, and can do a lot of damage if not found and removed from the plants.

Brilliant idea! Datura is beautiful and if it can host this beautiful moth and not die being eaten - it'a a win/win, as long as they leave my tomatoes alone

I just found my first one ever! Yikes! he’s 3-4” long and munching on my single volunteer ground cherry plant! 😅 I hate to kill him but im not sure where to put him to keep him from reproducing. Ty for your video!

Just throw him away from the plant, it'll not survive for long if it does not find another nightshade plant to munch on soon. BUT! If you plant a volunteer and you don't mind it being eaten by the worm - keep it - the Sphincs moth that hatches from the worm is a magnificent creature!

@@AuthenticGardening Oh! Thank you! Sadly it’s too late to go w your advice this time. I placed it carefully in s dry (cracked) bird bath w it’s stem of ground cherries and when I got home 4/5 h later it was gone. The gc stem it was clung to looked the same so it either 1. crawled away to avoid the sun 2. became the lunch for a bird thank you.
