A True Man Of The Hills. I could listen to Tom all day long. The way he describes the simple natural things and brings them to life.

Ten years ago i got my first real taste of the hills. It was a shock in many ways. I wasn`t long before i knew i was smitten by the hills. Reading and watching everything about Tom Weir sealed it. He is a huge inspiration and a legend.

Only discovered about Tom whilst randomly searching videos about The Caledonian forests of Scotland. Already fascinated by him :) Would love to have met him. One of the first environmentalists for sure...

I used to watch Weir's Way in the early hours of the morning when it was on late 90s. That's when I first thought "wow, this TV show is ancient, this guy must be long dead" and of course he wasn't, not until 2006. Nice to revisit 15 years later to see he's steadily increasing in prominence. He just got a statue erected of him in Loch Lomond a week or so ago.

I'm 40 now and Scottish from Ayr used to watch weirs way back in the late 90s early 2000 in the Early hours on stv. I loved his voice and his walks the way he would say stuff like "I'm standing here approximately 2000 feet above sea level" Those long walk he must have been super fit.

An inspirational man.For some unknown reason the BBC did not mention Tom Weir when they made a programme about his sister Molly. They said her ashes were strewn on Loch Lomond but forgot to say her brother Tom had a statue nearby.
