Here is a calm Tom Selleck talking with Rosie O'Donnell about Gun Control as she try's to steer him off course.

    She gutted her own career with that outing. Tom honored himself, and he honored the audience in general, by noting how they were NOT being 'entertained' by the interplay Rosie brought forward. Tom Selleck's a complete class act.

    She a terrible job of debating the issue. Just wanted to attack...Tom was much calmer and considerate. She could have learned from him how to discuss. He often said he "understood how she felt" and then spoke what he felt. She was like "you cant say"....."why do you"......She blamed and accused.

Did I include any others names, groups, or inferred to any political affiliation in my comment ? Or does the word “Tom” has a new meaning in 2023 that most of us are not aware of ? 2. Similarly, does the word or name “Tom” also mean cop in 2023? To be fair, he does played a Police Commissioner on TV, so figure I ask. Perhaps the name “House” mean a doctor in our Urban dictionary that I am not hip enough to understand 3. There are good cop and bad cop, similar to good people and bad people, or are all cop bad, period. Even the one that save a kids from a burning building or someone else family member ? 4. And lastly, what is consider slave wages for fast food employee for context ?

    In fairness, where I’m from you cannot buy a firearm without a license that is granted by the police. You have to have a permit granted for a gun shop to be able to legally sell you a firearm. I don’t see why that’s a bad idea

  • @skaruts

    @skaruts

    Жыл бұрын

    @@MilitaryPolice23 the point isn't that that's a bad idea. That very much depends on how hard those laws make it to own a gun. The point is criminals buy guns on the streets. It's not much of a hassle for them to own guns. They don't have all those legal barriers, they don't register guns, or whatever. It's everybody else that has it hard. The potential victims, wanting to own guns for self defense, have to go through hoops to own one. And then they may also have to be really careful about using them in self-defense, because they might be arrested for a long time just because they neglected some stupid detail in the laws. The more of a hassle it is to own a gun, the less inclined people will be to own one. And when it's prohibitively hard to own a gun, the result is you have a society of armed criminals and defenseless victims. And as the saying goes, _"when every second counts, the police is only ten minutes away"._ When you get attacked, you're on your own. The police only deals with the aftermath, which may involve you or your corpse. Basically, the people who do commit crimes and should not be carrying guns, are the least affected by gun laws.

    "It's an act of moral vanity to assume that someone that disagrees with your political agenda cares any less than you do." Brilliant statement. It's been many years since dialogue on American TV even approached the kind of complexity that might prompt this kind of statement. I don't think producers even invite people on air anymore who might even say something like that.

She was not trying to discuss, she was trying to WIN and basically get people to agree with her. That single mindedness made her look like an ass ( which she is). Selleck could have and should have just gone off on her. I hate it when liberals see everyone who owns a gun as wrong. I grew up on a farm and used a gun my whole life, in all that time I never once killed a thing other than putting animals out of their misery. Does that make me a gun nut!? The 'register a car' argument also fails for the obvious reason that vehicular modes of transportation are not unaliable rights but more importantly; If we treated guns like cars we'd: *Only have to register them to use on public infrastructure *be allowed to own and operate any form, in any configuration on private land *be able to cross state lines with any configuration or attachments(albeit on a trailer in regards to a car...so i guess in a guncase for argument sake) *have no limit on the amount or type of 'fuel' they use *have no limit on the amount or type you can own. *private transfers and sales are completely independent with no governmental oversight * safe handling courses taught(and sometimes required) in public schools * totally fine to bring to registered ones onto government and school property * pay property tax( the only bad one on the list) * have governmental financial assistance for the manufacturingn industry * have massive hobbyist\collectors groups engage in open, public display(ala; gun equivilent of a car show or those old guys that drive their hot rods 10mph under the speedlimit together on sundays around here) *import of certain models in certain configurations would be regulated LESS than they currently are for guns *be able to buy any part, for any model, with absolutely no tracking or registering of components *no minumum waiting time or background check for sales So yeah...maybe we SHOULD treat guns like cars. Overall I think it'd be a win for the 2A community. But lieftists and fools can not wrap their minds around logical extentions of their own idiocy.
