Annenmaykantereit started as a band performing on the streets. They still musicly keep that vibe with minimalist instruments around Henning Mays voice (the singer with the deep voice). Their originals are mostly in german, but for english speakers there are also other covers they made, like "Roxanne" from The Police or "Can´t get you out of my head" from Kylie Minogue. But their german origianals are also awsome, you might just not understand the text.

@@PortuguesePai One of my favs they do in german is "AnnenMayKantereit - Ausgehen (Proberaum Session)". It's a great live session. I don't know german but love the song. I've since translated it just out of curosity. Subscribed.

@@PortuguesePai Then defenetly go for it. Their breakthrough hit was "Barfuß am Klavier" but I personally love the son "Pocahontas". The singer Henning May is also often featured solo by other artists especially in german hip hop. His best parts are in "K.I.Z. - Hurra die Welt geht unter" and with "Juju - Vermissen"

Music goes straight to your heart (bypasses the brain) so if you don't understand the language you can still enjoy it I love fado and don't speak Portugese And I love Dead can Dance and they have songs with made up words/sounds beautiful .....that being said if your able to learn a language Go for it, as a neighbour (Dutch) I understand German and appreciate certain songs like Haus am See, 99 luftballons but haven't checked out giant rooks or annemaykantereit So gonna do that 😉👌❤

Ya it's a fairly old song (like 30-40yrs). I haven't even really heard it played much or listened to it since forever, but I do know it. It was used a few years back in a Samsung commercial I believe, but was a different version/sound.

Henning Mayus the wonderful deep extraordinary vocalist. His band, Annen.MayKantereit. were. In the ist room. The other singer and the band in the 2nd rm are Great Rooks. Both German bands. Check out AnnenMayKantereits othe cover classic rock songs in English. The Bestles- Come Together, The Police-- Roxanne, Forever Young, Elton John's Your Song. They started. as street musians and now pack hugh arenas in Germsny. They have original songs but only in German. I hope that they will cut an album in English, soon. The exposure they're getting on KZread should help they're worldwide fans. I feel like I've discovered treasure!!!
