LYRICS :
Did you ever read Albert Camus?
The bit about how you gotta turn away from the world to understand it
Did you feel this too?
I was in a mindless kind of queue
But then I went a pulled myself right out
Found things just got a bit wilder
Haven't you heard right?
It's a truly absurd life
Tomorrow could be a big hole and the next day you could be a king
Can't return to my old ways
When the nothingness held up the days
And now come to think of it
I only got out of bed for you
I used to think nothing of the end
Repeating each day was my forte
Spinning out time like a spider with a web
Devouring every second I was fed
But then I went and sailed right out got lost
Found things just got a bit lighter
Haven't you heard love?
It's a truly absurd love
Tomorrow you could be a big kiss and the next day you could be a stone
Can't return to my old lives
Quite oblivious to all of the signs
And now come to think of it
I only got out of bed for you
Invited to the feast
Only had one grape
Always arrived ahead of time
But turned out I was late
I can see now the world does not care
And that's ok with me
So I never really needed a boat to sail out to the sea
Haven't you heard right?
It's a truly absurd life
Tomorrow could be a big hole and the next day could be a king
Can't return to my old ways
When the nothingness held up the days
And now come to think of it
I only got out of bed for you
Haven't you heard love?
It's a truly absurd love
Tomorrow you could be a big kiss and the next day you could be a stone
Can't return to my old lives
Quite oblivious to all of the signs
And now come to think of it
I only got out of bed for you

Seriously, he’s my rock in a stormy sea right now. Him and my partner, who I get out of bed for.
Can we appreciate that this video is an one long shot?
i think Albert Camus would love the absurdity of bittersweet lyrics combined with happy instrumental
I wonder if Tom can tell how deep our love towards him has been rooted in our hearts. Every new song he writes gives me this warm feeling. How is it we have never met , yet something they sing about relates to us on a level that can't be expressed by the words in an ordinary conversation. (I have got a riddled mind, I know)

“Tomorrow you could be a big hole and the next day you could be a king”. I’ve never actually been a big hole or a king or a stone but I don’t know I related to that so much. Thank you Tom.

I owe my life to Albert Camus, him leading me from nihilism to absurdism saved me from ending myself and for that I will always hold him aloft

Dude, but nihilism is nothing like the absurdist philosophy. I love Camus too and he also saved my life in so many ways that I ended up getting a Sisyphus tattoo.
This is the greatest honour the ghost of Albert Camus will ever experience
Tom looks like that one guy in federal prison who got caught for tax evasion
I wonder if the man walking behind was planned or not. I like to think he was just lucky enough to appear in this lovely video. In that case, the day before he was probably a hole.

albert camus and tom rosenthal? a combination I didn't know I would ever need as much
Tom does it yet again, leaving me with feelings i can't even express. The title threw me back to high school, and my at the time favorite book. I still don't understand how each song Tom does, comes at such a perfect time for me. I suppose they are just timeless.

I’m so happy to be French. I love Albert Camus
No other words to explain it, but somehow, each and every one of your songs makes me feel truly human in the best way possible

Dear Tom, it's been almost five years from the moment I've found your magical music. I'm so much in love with everything you create, and a lot of your songs stay in my little heart. This is one of them. Thanks for create an amazing music and through them a magical atmosphere. A huge hug to you and your sweet wife and daughters. ♡
"I only got out of bed for you" might me one of the most romantic things one can say.
I love this background sound. Mysterious, disquieting. When I hear it I feel like something is calling me to a place I don't know.
I've been reading a lot of Camus in the last few weeks and this randomly popped in my recommendations. I guess I have my FBI agent to thank.
I am at this moment reading Camus and somehow this song captures the essence perfectly.
Very very beautiful. I enjoyed the grape. Things must have been wild behind the camera, my greatest respect to the prop champions!

Think is my new favourite Rosenthal track 🥰
The myth of Sisyphus brought me here. Thanks for the nice song!
One of my fav singer doing a song about my fav philosopher. This couldn't get any better.
Dont walk behind me, I may not lead, dont walk in front of me, I may not follow, just walk beside me and be my friend
This is truly one of my favorite songs ever!
You don't even know how much of a part of my life you are. Thank you Tom. Love from Poland
Peace, that's what I feel Tom. You are doing great.
I never realized how 'absurd' my life was before hearing a song about Albert Camus sung by Tom. I love it!
I listen to your songs everyday, every good memory can come faster when I play one of them, your work is kinda magic, Thank you for all the good words Tom!
The only serious question in life is whether to listen to this for a thousand times or not
Thank you Tom for reminding us of how happy the Sisyphus is! Love all your songs.
I can listen to this song forever and I think I'm in love with this clip... again, TOM, you’re the best!🏄🏻♂️
I just heard it for the first time yesterday in the train and I cried because of the beautiful melody and the lyrics. You’re my favourite singer of all time 😭
My imagination always gets so boosted and all my feelings are so easily revealed by Tom’s music. It takes a great talent to write so simple and deep. ❤️
Just found this guy and I’m absolutely obsessed wtf? Really shocked I haven’t seen him anywhere
Stumbled on this randomly on my Twitter feed and it quickly is becoming the soundtrack of my life
My favorite new artist.
Often when I listen to your songs I cry. Today I had a bad day, I thought about sad and unpleasant things, thought about my sad life. But when I listened to this song I burst into tears, but smiled through tears. Your music is my friend, my mentor, my doctor. Each of your songs settles in my heart. If my English is crooked then I'm sorry, I'm from Russia :)
Most underrated song of our existence
Heard it already 200 times!!! Love u Tom!! Your music is a warranty!
Ooooh man. Knew I'd like this when heard the tease, but now know I'm going to be listening on repeat, an absurd amount of times Thank you, Tom, for your rhymes They really make my dayyy
I would love to see the behind the scenes of the people juggling all those props. Tom did a great job as usual, but kudos to the prop people!
This song about my all-time favorite writer and philosopher touched my heart in a unexpliquable way! Thank you so much for this gift 💙
This is such a beautiful song, absurdism as music ❤️ I love this.
I have a love for his music that I feel WAY DOWN in my heart
I'd love to see a behind the scenes video of the people juggling all those props while walking through the field. Great job everybody!
I love absolutely everything about this song!
Woaw, i was searching albert camus because the absurd hit me again and found this absolute gem ❤
Can Tom stop making such brilliant songs at this astounding rate oh look bye bye my poor little depression what will I do without her
To Tom Rosenthal, your Music keeps me fighting to stay alive against the odds, endless thanks XX
I studied the Outsider (L'Étranger) for French A level and i LOVE all the little references to it and Camus' philosophies
This made me so so happy. Thanks Tom ♥️
Thank you for this I literally cried. Albert Camus is so spiritual for me and this song touches everything in me.
OMG! Albert Camus is my favorite writer. It's so amazing that you have made a song in his name ^^
Man. You're speaking to my heart
Honestly, what would we do without Tom Rosenthal in this absurd life ?
Only got out of bed to listen to this song.
Now we all need to run read ourselves some Albert Camus /: Brilliant as always tom, thank you! *specifically the bit about how you gotta turn away from the world to understand it :)
I will never understand why this song wasn't playlisted on national radio in the UK Tom!
OMG! No way I love it, I love Camus😭This is so touching. Thank youuu
Song like these really charge the baterry🌄 Best regards from Colombia 🇨🇴
I love Tom's sincerity through his music, all the messages he conveys, I'm starting to believe that he doesn't live on earth, because it's impossible for such a great man to live on our planet. Lots of love for you Tom
This is such a beautiful video for the song. And I especially love the moment of you saying stone with that firm stone hand gesture hehe
I wish sign language was like this.
Yes I did read Albert Camus for a level French, thank u for reminding me of that hell😭
Okay, so know I watched it and I think it's amazing. It's just soo good. I have now the need to read more Camus
after having a very quick search about albert, i found that his philosophy about once you realise how weird and confusing life is, you can never get back, but then that made me realise, will toms music get weirder? if so, them i’m actually scared, as tom’s music is already weird, wonderful and confusing, also, i’m unsure if this is an insult or a compliment to tom
@darthgandalf9485
4 жыл бұрын
camus philosophy is not based on confusion, etc. he wrote of the clarity to see the complexity of life whilst knowing you are not this complex, feeling that you cannot grasp life in its true form and thus the absurdity of life becomes evident to us absurdism is quite a simplistic thought so i think well be safe from his music to become even greater ;p

This is my favorite song of the year. There are so many sweet memories tied to it already, and it always makes me go through them again. I believe this is what the music is made for. Thank you ❤
This guy got me through lockdown 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 he’s everything I need right now to make me ❤️believe life is still amazing
Nice one bruv.
Read the stranger yesterday. And today I had this in my recommendations. It's truly a absurd life.
i discovered this song when i was in a psychosomathic clinic. It gave me a big boost of hope that I could overcome my crisis. Tomorrow could be a big hole and the next day you could be a king is so true.
I can still scream yes with the first lyric because of "The Myth of Sisyphus" and "The Outsider"! Anyone else out there reveling in the Absurdity of life? 😁
Tom Rosenthal = positive attitude.. cheers
Oh Tom, this was quite wonderful
You have no idea how this song has been saving me, Tom. Thank you. So much.
This song is SOOO good WHATTTT why am I just finding it now ??? Tom u legend
It’s like.. this song was made for me. Obviously not really but I’ve been going through this exactly. I’ve been feeling down, not myself, lost. Lost interest in all my hobbies, my goals.. and this describes my feelings exactly, and motivates me to change. I heard this first sat on the floor with my kitten who listened as intently as I did. Thank you for this Tom, your songs always make me feel better x
This song is so fantastic! I can't help but love the reference to Camus :)
Hi Tom, if you ever see this - thanks. Just, thanks for everything you do. When you played Big Pot Of Hummus during your show in Warsaw last year something switched in me and I'm on a self-acceptance journey since then. I also recently re-read my favourite book from highschool, which just happens to be Camus' The Plague. Seeing and hearing the crossover between one of my favourite authors ever and my absolutely top 1 songwriter ever is an experience I can't even describe. So thanks for everything Tom.
You have held the spot of my favorite artist for like 8 years now and when I think about how long I've been listening to your music it makes me feel old hahaha
It is beautiful. I haven’t read Albert Camus but I will. After I knew Tom gonna drop a new song I had been excited the entire week, and it does not disappoint me! It’s a lovely and wonderful song! ☺️
this is absurd *amazing* . I love every second of it.
The song title was all I needed to click on the video. Camus love
Tom, have you just been through an existential crisis? I've just managed to beat one, now I'm stronger than ever even though I'm only 15, and your songs are just so relatable it's scary. Also your music is amazing!
