Everything thing I see of Tom makes me love him more and miss that little bit more. I doubt we'll find another quite like him, and that makes me sad, but I believe we were blessed to have him. Generations from now will hear and love his music. Tom hasn't gone anywhere just yet. The waiting is the hardest part.

HE got to do what he loved all of his life, right down to his very last days. And boy did he do some fine things with that talent of his. It was never wasted. Not an ounce of it. RIP sweet Tom....❤️

It makes me sad to watch this. Tom loved US like no other!!!!! He did the last tour with a broken hip! Now THAT IS LOVE!!!!! He didn't want to let us down!!!!! MISS YOU TOM!!!!!! =(

It's too bad a lot of people (mostly Americans) don't recognize character writing (a narrative written from someone ELSE'S point-of-view) when they hear it,which is how Tom most often wrote. They think if he's singing it, that is how he feels and thinks . Then you get Tom, upset at the misunderstanding, not playing that song anymore, which is what happened to "Rebels" and some other great songs. They would only play them in Europe, etc where they are more likely to understand those literary devices. It was a real shame.

I kinda think so, but not only because of "bad" people, etc. I think back in the day we were separated by region and the regions were highly distinctive. They were from Gainesville, and Gainesville was its own "thing" and he brought that Southern flair to California just like other bands from that region (Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, etc.) let their southern rock sound emerge -- it wasn't as easy to get around so it was a big deal when everybody kind of "met up" with each other through mass media. Now, it's like we have one big "monoculture" where the stores are the same in every state and town, the radio got all bought up, everybody is kind of herded into a "sameness" which just isn't as cool.

I call Tom “my blonde Jesus” because he has helped me get thru this life far more than the one I was raised on. I had started saying that back some time before he died, but it’s even more true since. Lol, in shock when he was pronounced dead, I said..... “well maybe he’ll rise again in three days...” And truth be told, he DOES keep rising again. Not sure he’s resting peacefully; more likely he’s still working pretty hard at what he loves the most.

You're so absolutely right. He's like the friend we've never met. I honestly can't say that about too many people, if even anyone else at all. So humble, so gracious, so genuinely talented, and so willing to share all of his talents with us. He was just a fine man. I'm gonna miss him for a very long, long time. If I feel like this, I can only imagine how all of his bandmates are feeling (40+ years of being together & knowing one another, like a band of brothers) and Dana and his kids.. :(

Not to be a party pooper or step on Tom's legacy because he, in my mind was a beautiful soul, with the true gift of music in his blood. But he died of a drug overdose from touring with a broken hip. The last tour he has a fracture in his hip and by the time he got home it was a full on break and he took some pills before bed and just never woke up again. It's super sad. That said fuck all that drug shit. He was a great man and will always be my favorite musician of all time. Rest in peace tommy
