Tom Morris: Keeper of the Greens
The life of Tom Morris is brilliantly portrayed by David Joy in this drama documentary, set it the home of golf, St Andrews in Scotland. The photography and direction by Julian Gibsone captures the mood of the period. The evocative music score by Bernie Precious and Jim Watson adds a mystical ambience. Vocals by Karen Edward.

It does the heart sae good tae watch Old Tom look back on a life well spent.
G'day from Tasmania , Australia .. THIS IS WONDERFUL ..I play and am a member of our par 67 (9 greens/18 tees) 5000 metres or about 5300 yards rural golf course costing $75 a year membership . It was built by locals in the 1930's that we look after voluntarily thanks to 'keepers of the greens' by passionate folk who love the game and the club itself .. To watch this amazing documentary is sheer joy ..Thank you .. By the way in our little island State we have the oldest golf course outside of Scotland still in existence ..It's called Ratho Farm at Highland Lakes Road in Bothwell , Tasmania and was first laid out in 1822 so it's 200 years old this year . Established by Alexander Reid who was a Scottish immigrant .. Just think , it had seen 38 years of golf activity before the first Open Championship was played in 1860 ..Thanks again for a joyful video featuring this documentary ..Cheers

Bravo. There are stories like this in all sports, that need to be told like this! But none can approach the dignity and legacy of this masterpiece

For some reason I watch this video every Christmas. Yeah I know it's February now but still, I'll be back in December.
Amazing how the “sound of golf” has changed throughout the generations, superb work, thank you ❤️⛳️🇬🇧
David joy does a brilliant job of playing old Tom Morris anyone who likes golf has got to love this story some times sad but it's a true story that's what makes it so great
Absolutely one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen, that was awesome I was actually had tears in my eyes at the beginning, what a great work of art. God bless you David Joy. Tom Senior and Junior would definitely be in my ideal foursome. We would not have the game today without Tom Sr. he meant so much to the Architecture of golf & architects he brought into the game, rules we follow, equipment we use, promotion of the game, even a first rate golf coach. I could go on & on, a true hero to the golfing world of today.
Just got introduced to golf. I decided to volunteer for Qatar Masters tournament this year. Never played golf never interested until now...looking forward to learning more of this sport and enjoy it as much as I do with when watching basketball and football.

welcome to the wonderful game. Just remember its a game that can only be played and not won and have fun. the History is deep and Old tom was a Scottish Legend and the game as really changed :) I wonder what Old Tom would think of the game today if he was among us? ^_^
Had young Tom Morris not died, imagine how many more Opens he would have won. I'd say he would have set the major record
What a nice watch! Thank you for sharing this. I grew up playing golf in New Zealand, but gave it up in late teens, too busy with rugby. Fast forward time, my youngest son has just started, natural swing from the first time he held a club. Here I am back on this golf journey. I can't wait to visit Scotland and experience golf at its home.
Just sit back and enjoy this captivating and touching story that includes an in-depth history of the game we love. Not to mention the look into the R&A clubhouse treasures near the end.
The Golf Channel special on St. Andrews last night was very good. Great tributes to Old and Young Tom and "The Old."
What an incredible, emotion laden film...
thanks for this... I enjoyed it. it's a good thing to return to golf's roots in this age of grip and rip
Lovely. Emotion laden. I love that music at the beginning. Wish I can get the lyrics and copy for my car stereo

Dear @Rafiq Shah, you're not poor, the question is if you can not afford it, try how to afford it. If you have passions, you can afford it, it is misconception that golf is not for poor, I'm poor too, I've only 8 clubs, most of them are used... Try used clubs. Hope we shall find a way...
A beautiful traditional golf swing, St Andrews?

Rangers fc, golf, Protestantism & whiskey. What a fucking country we have 💙
We ,of this day have no idea what golf really was .I would love the best of the PGA have a tournament with the best with the equipment that what used and the same ball. The faces of these pros would be a great thing to see how they would have failed or excelled.Golf is such a game that needs no explanation, it is like a woman, you think you have figured out the course, not .lol
Beautiful documentary spoiled by the constant use if the phrase “ my main man”. Such a jarring modernism which kept making me cringe.
Annoying music.
