My writing is not on the wall so when I'm dead I won't be gone for long until the cat came back the very next day thought she was a gonner but the cat came back with a couple stray dogs.

Watched the Manfreds perform this in the pavilion on Cromer Pier, Norfolk on Friday 17 March 2017 and boy are they good. Paul Jones seems absolutely ageless and looks and acts like someone in his 40s.

A great band, I don't doubt, but this is a very tricky song to cover effectively. To my mind it needs something approaching Hugh Flint's original (in both senses of the word) drum accompaniment - lurching, almost random-sounding in places, but somehow exactly right - to really lift it. Check out McGuinness Flint's live version recorded at the BBC - at least as good as the record.
