I've gone thru addiction, I'm 4 years clean, I struggle with anxiety and depression as well. I respect Tom so much for bringing awareness to mental illness and that it's ok to talk about it. Never met Tom, and probably never will. But he gives me inspiration.

Asia 100% nailed this one. I would consider myself an old school country boy. I have never ever listened to rap music in my life. Tom, adam, and struggle, have really introduced me to a new world. Lyrics mean more to me than how it sounds, compared to my normal sound.

The raw emotion in this song especially towards the end is so raw you can feel all the negativity and stress that Tom is reflecting.

You should listen to his interview with The Officer Tatum. Spilled his background. How he alcoholic and wrecked his life, then recovered and come back with a vengeance. Knowing his background make listening to this song more understandable. He did say in the interview that he don't want to go back to the days when rats crawled out of the kitchen cabinet and he and Nova were broke. He is afraid that his success will stop. That's why he just move forward, taking each day at a time. He cannot afford to look back, to look down, he is afraid of his past coming back, even though his past is spurring him forward. This is quite a song about his mental state. It is some Joker vibe. You all H.O.G. army gotta keep him sane and real. The world needs honest rap.

Far as I see it, Tom's level of talent is indisputable. Yes, he does use the controversy to keep his name popping, but he's got the skills to back it up. He knows what matters to people and explains it in a way most people can relate to. So many of us cater to the lowest common denominator in our society because we're afraid of the repercussions for speaking our minds. Tom is uniquely immune to cancellation. He gives us hope that sanity still exists.

The weight on his mind and is shoulders that staying on top has put on him n he's afraid that should he just rest for a minute that pressure will push him out the clouds n back to the ground.
