Cal you should pay attention to Coach here. Humility matters.

MSU has underachieved since Cassius and Covid year! That team could have won the whole thing. If not for the transfer portal, MSU would be worse off. MSU will never let Izzo go and maybe with all the final fours he deserves that. However, UofM finally hired an elite coach. I think Izzo style of coaching is too abrasive for kids now days. He needs to find 3 point shooters. I can’t remember the last time MSU could shoot from the outside. Analytics isn’t going anywhere, use them. I wish he would retire. There are some coaches that could do more with that job. I.E Nate Oats, Dusty May, etc.

Izzo after losing to a 1 seed in 2nd round: “we underachieved and that’s on me” Calipari after losing to a 14 seed in the 1st round: “Wish we would have played a little bit better”, “I just thought I had a team that could do some stuff”, “We made some critical mistakes at critical times again today. I mean, we had our chances”, “And when you look at where did the mistakes come from, they were freshmen”, “I thought they (his players) were anxious”. I could go on. Notice the difference?

@@__hjg__2123 my point was Izzo takes personal accountability. Calipari deflects and blames others. I can think of no coach that has done less with more than Calipari.

Hey Tom, I love U, but this 💩 about falling on ur sword is getting old. Here's how to WIN again... 1. Get kids that are way tougher. 2. The 1999/2000 teams were way tougher. 3. Those teams had fewer "stars" but more talent overall. 4. You were tougher, more demanding....get back to it. 5. You're the coach...not their Pal. The Asst. coaches are there Pals 6. Get the helmets and pads out again, and often.
