Two Marvel Cinematic Universe members, Tom Holland and Daniel Kaluuya went deep on the elaborate process that is joining Kevin Feige's superhero team and how joining the Marvel movies opened doors for their current 2021 films.
The Oscar-nominated Kaluuya, was actually approached for his next role in "Judas And The Black Messiah" while doing reshoots for "Black Panther" by director Ryan Coogler. "He pulled me aside and was like, ‘We’re making a Fred Hampton film, and we’d really love you to play Fred Hampton.'"
Holland also had a Marvel-connection to his role in "Cherry." While doing ADR for the "Avengers: Endgame" the Russo brothers approached the actor about their next project. "They sort of took me aside and said, 'We want to make this movie. It’s about a kid who suffers from PTSD and falls into drug addiction and ends up robbing banks. Would you be interested?' When they offered me the job, I was just really excited. And then when I read the script for the first time, I was like, 'There’s no way I can make this film. I’ll fall apart. I can’t hold onto a character like this for so long.'"
Holland also dove into the elaborate auditioning process for his Spider-Man role. Revealing that after he made it all the way to a chemistry test with Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr., it was his improvisation skills (something he was specifically told not to do) that helped land him the gig.

I wouldn't say he's underrated. He's just gaining traction, and for someone who's just gaining traction, he's doing extremely well. He already has an Oscar nomination too and I'm pretty sure he's going to win for Judas and the Black Messiah.

I know everybody wants MBJ as the next Black Panther and I love him too. But I feel utilizing Daniel's talent in that film to redeem his character is a strong opportunity that can still pay homage to Chadwick's T'Challa.

MCU fans are already familiar with him vs bringing in a new character no one has seen before with no ties to the first film. Daniel is too talented to just be a side character in the MCU. Utilize his talent and bring him up to the leading role in BP2.

Tom and Daniel are the types of people who get along with everyone and are really charismatic. So of course, they'd be a gold duo. You should also watch the one with Daniel and Timothee Chalamet. It had the same energy.

Don't worry, he's getting his time after Judas and the Black messiah - he should win the Oscar for that. He's been a superb actor even before Get Out, and proved it again in Widows and Queen and Slim.

i remember watching a behind the scenes for queen and slim. the director melina said daniel overpowered all of the women they paired him with until jodie. she said “he actually blushed and shrank before her” and i was just like woah. she must be some woman because he’s pretty alpha..

Really looking forward to Tom Holland's performance in Cherry, he really impressed me with his recent performance in The Devil All The Time, and of course, he was really great in the Impossible, I'm glad that he is branching out of Spider-Man. He really is so likeable, and a person who you wish the best for in the future, he truly is one of the best actors of his generation.

Tom Holland’s career is going towards a franchise actor. First Spider-Man, next up Nathan Drake. He’s still under 30 so he’s got a bright future in his already amazing career

As a recovering addict and graduate of a 30 day inpatient rehab stint, I can really appreciate Tom Holland positively supporting the rehab and counseling plan for all of us suffering from substance abuse and PTSD. It is not an easy thing to admit that you can’t do it on your own. My opinion of him just increased tenfold. Thank you Tom for supporting and beautifully portraying such a sensitive and taboo subject.
Telling the Fred Hampton story will open a lot of eyes to what the Black Panther Party actually stood for, and help get rid of some of those misconceptions that have been spread about them over the years.
Ok so I knew Daniel was effing hot, funny, sexy, a brilliant actor...but seeing how insightful he is and what an amazing listener .... Like he really listens! He might be the perfect man.
Daniel spends the whole time complimenting Tom. What a humble sweetheart!
Just watch, DANIEL KALUUYA will go down as one of the best actors of our generation & TOM HOLLAND as well. Tom May have more recognition because of Spider-Man but Daniel Starred in Get Out & was in Black Panther. Both deserve high praise

Daniel is such a well of wisdom, there’s so much depth to him and I thoroughly enjoy listening to him. His questions were well thought out, very interesting

Now I really want them on screen together in the MCU. This conversation was so interesting as they both dug deep into the other’s varied roles. Their range would make them so amazing together in a scene.
It's so sweet how Tom talks about his Dad. I saw Dom Holland in Edinburgh and he had the crowd in fits of laughter for an hour.
Daniel is one of the greats!!! Mark my words!
No professional interviewer is going to have a more insightful conversation about either of these films with either of these actors than they just had with other. I’ll still watch nearly any interview I can find, but I think they will all fall short.
10 mins into the interview and I really like Daniel's questions and Tom's answers to those questions. We can really tell Tom's preparation and interpretation on his character from their interactions.

Every interview I've watched with Tom Holland speaking about this film and everything he learned/ experienced with veterans, is so impressive and hopeful. I really find it refreshing to hear someone understand what so many soldiers go through, and PTSD in general, when it is such a stigmatized thing. It also really shows something beautiful in him that, a younger man, can see and understand so many things, he could be young, rich, successful, and blind; but he's seemingly not. I'm happy to see that.
Imagine them hiring anyone but Tom Holland for spiderman. Honestly, besides RDJ and Chris Evans, Tom Holland for spiderman was THE BEST decision Marvel made. Love Tom Holland’s career! Anything that he is in, you can just guarantee is a great movie. From Current War, Spiderman, Devil All The Time, and now Cherry. Amazing films with phenomenal cinematography and superb casting!!

I watched Judas and The Black Messiah, thought it was absolutely amazing. I’m ready to see Cherry as well. Two of the best actors of their generation.
I love that both these actors are getting more work, it will be fun to see their careers go places that will leave a valuable legacy throughout their livelihoods and beyond.

I absolutely loved seeing both of them talking about their experiences with their films. This will be one of my favorite interviews for both Daniel and Tom.
I enjoyed listening and watching these maturing actors sharing their acting experiences and skills with such easy. They both seem to be grounded and haven't let stardom gone to their heads. I could see these 2 guys back in the day 😍...sitting in some common room talking about their lives and how they can't believe how has turned out for them...but relishing it and looking forward to all their tomorrows. In a job that doesn't guarantee you'll be favour of the week.

*after civil war...by the time homecoming was shot...he was already a huge fan favorite with legions of fans...there's no way they'd fire him after that...!!!

@@abhishekbaburaj1105 Yeah, cause in 2017, there was SOOO much hype for Spider-Man: Homecoming. Even though the movie haven't even come out yet. Everybody knew that it was going to be a success.

It sounds like he had a severe case of imposter syndrome. Which I can relate to honestly. It's just hard when you already put a lot of work into something but you can't see the end results.
