I really wasnt expecting a lecture on a subject that I actually know (I studied publicity and media in my gap year). But the lesson I take is that I should keep on not commenting on anything that has Mr. Hiddleston in it, because his fans may get triggered, and I really dont like getting involved in useless internet discussions. Sorry for intruding.

Joycelyn Ong I get that, but I think all of a sudden his market value is so much lower than I imagined it would ever get 🙁 And honestly, by the commercial itself he is either not doing an amazing job at convincing me he is thrilled to make “me” breakfast or he is cringing so much inside that it affects his acting skills :/ he just seems sad. I really hope he can get better work stuff soon and make everyone forget he ever dated Taylor

verysmartname Don't even remind me of the Taylor saga, I've already forgotten it bcos thinking of it makes ME sad for him. Whatever his reasons were, the backlash isn't worth it. I agree that compared to Jaguar, Centrum makes him look cheap, but I suspect the big brands don't quite dare to get him. I personally think at this point, with Endgame and the Loki series coming up, there's no risk, but if they won't have him, then he has to start somewhere. I guess I'm just happy to see him wading back into public view. As for this ad... You're right, he doesn't seem very "into it" but it's not entirely shabby either, just seems like his mild and polite self. Maybe he shot this while doing Betrayal and the feelings lingered? Who knows :/

What the hell... Just be happy that he got out of it in 3 months. I actually don't have any problem with all those Taylor Swift related things as I know sometimes things just don't work and we all have experienced failed relations in our life where we gave everything only to come up as a fool later and we learn from our experiences but what affects me is how much Tom changed. I meant, I miss the old Tom.

It bothers me that he is not even being convincing in this. That means it’s either a job he didn’t really want to do or I don’t know what 🤷🏻‍♀️. I understand everybody needs money, but unless he has been reckless with his coin, avengers money is all you need for a lifetime, I’m sure. So I don’t get this.

Let him do what he wants. Obviously it's not a big commercial so it's not about money. He probably just wanted to help a friend (who's working in this(?)) out or something.

The taxonomy of a sexist spot: we can see only the arms and the feet of the woman, pieces of body, as usual. The hands of an unkwown woman setting perfect the man suit to go to the job (we presume she remains at home to clean, iron, feed the babies, etc). Only when the famous Hiddleston has gone away from the camera, we see a young lady talking about the product. Never bought multicentrum (in Italy is the commercial name), and I will never buy. Adios, Hiddleston, Centrum, and the sexism has broken the eggs!

In film we usually see the 'male gaze' technique. Think of any film where you see the ankles, legs , of a woman first before her actual face. This commercial does the opposite. We see him cooking before we see him. We see the female gaze technique, albeit no sexy, but subtle. I see no problem with portraying a gentleman. Who didn't even Kiss his sweetheart goodbye in the morning. But you would no doubt have something to say about his ownership of said woman, and him marking his territory with an ownership kiss. I wonder if he held the door open, if he would be herding her like a sheep outside to show the public his property.

Nothing sexist here. Hiddleston is Feminist. If he found anything sexist about this ad, he wouldn't act in it. Also it's you who assumed that the woman will be the one cooking if it weren't for this man doing it for her one day. It could just be that they always have dinner outside, or maybe cook together... Yet you chose to assume she does it all the time. It's a fckin shame you're making Hiddleston look like a sexist, when he'd be the last one to be sexist.
