I loved this traditional paso - Tom and Amy were brilliant. But can we just have a huge shout out to the fabulous trumpet soloist? Amparito Roca has never sounded so stylish. Whoever you are, you were brilliant and all power to your embouchure!

lots of people saying they didn’t like this but i think it’s been a WHILE since we’ve seen a paso as traditional as this! we haven’t seen many quite like these and this was incredible! for me it deserved its tens 💛

So he should get 10s because Amy or the producers of the show choose to do a traditional paso, even tho there where mistakes.... doesnt really make sence

@@Bobisalive the point is tom executed what he was taught really well, and i’m happy that amy chose a more traditional route as it was something different again from all the incredible pasos we’ve seen so far this series. toms and amy aren’t asking to be favourited, it’s just nice to see that he’s improving😊

The beautiful shaping and lines! Tom is blossoming into such a beautiful dancer! I love his partnering and leading skills in this dance. I could tell Amy was bursting with pride. Well done!!!

Everytime I see the cape bit, i just keep thinking "hes gunna annoy his wife with that everytime she asks him to fold a sheet or towel 😂😂😂😂"

At last, a real Paso Doble, brilliantly choreographed and executed.

It was, without a trace of a doubt, Tom's best dance! He redeemed himself incredibly after his tango the week before! This dance, the outfit, the hair style suit him so, so much! Once again, he was so into character, so into the music, he looked like a true matador - fierce but yet self-controlled, so masculine... he has produced such clean lines, his spins were fantastic, his knee-walk was exquisite, his jumps were superb. I just wanted him to produce more shaping in his body, soften his hands a bit and produce some more tilted hip action. Haven't said that, it had so much control, so much attention to details, so much atmosphere... it was a pure an d a traditional paso-doble in so many ways, it was exciting for me to watch because the steps were so clean and because it was a proper-paso doble with some really intricate steps in it that was executed with immense understanding of the style, both rhythmically, physically and artistically. My score: a proud 8!

Cultural Festival vibe, really enjoyed it. Gave me a feeling that I am watching 2 simple stage performers one sunny day during a nice holiday in pain, Loved it.

Score: *9* YASSSSS TOM!! WELCOME TO YOUR BREAKOUT DANCE!! The flamenco shaping and the extensions were out of this world. It felt like an old-fashion paso doble from DanceSport. Had attack, and the characterization of the matador and bull was there, not to mention the staccato feet from Tom. The only reason I didn't give this a 10 is I wanted a bit more connection between the two but other than that YASSS TOM!!!

Impressive opening performance! Transported me to Spain in the bullring. Tom was a real matador. Beautiful, clean lines and expression. Well done Tom and Amy! Ole 👏🏽👏🏽

9 Wow. I was not expecting this to go well at all. Based on the training footage and the start of the dance, I thought this was going to be quite awkward. It was so refreshing to see a Paso that focused on finer details and that took time. His shaping was fantastic, lots of lovely extensions of lines and arching of his back. I also felt he looked in charge when it came to the turns. On top of that, his timing and footwork were moreorless perfect. This proved that a paso doesn't have to be fast and aggressive. My main criticism would be that, since this is a more controlled routine, he could've extended even further, especially in driving his legs across the floor, but I can see he was already focusing on that so he's clearly conscious of it. Brilliant! This was really his dance.

I think this is one of those routines u just notice more and more when you watch it back. I only gave this an 8 when I first watched it but now that I've watched it back I can see all the little details and I loved the traditional take on this Paso that is something we have been missing especially cape work. It had lovely chassee capes, twist turns etc it had alot of basic champion Paso content alot like John's Rumba only Rumba content obviously xD. He did well with the stiff character, some lovely in sync solo spanish lines I thought, the only thing letting him down was his face it just wasn't convincing enough for a Paso so *9/10* beautifully choreographed

This really was spectacular. It was so traditional that one could sense a kind of historic atmosphere!

This is probably the only time I've liked the Paso Doble! They did AMAZING. I definitely love the traditional Paso Doble more than the other's I've seen on strictly. Getting 9s and 10s was well deserved.

Wow. I mean, it was a bit slow and lacking in some places to my liking. But look at them! It looks so natural to Tom. He looks like a genuine trained Paso Doble dancer! Such strong character. This was a really nice classic Paso, and it's so nice. I'm more used to the aggressive, stronger Pasos, which is why the beginning disappointed me, but because I felt let down, the dance actually blew me right away. How wonderfully choreographed by Amy. Oh my God... TEN?! TWO TENS?! I did NOT expect that!

So lovely to see a traditional Paso with appropriate music. Great cape work, however this is not done in open competition so I would have been equally happy without it! Tom had great presence throughout the dance and nailed the shaping. He was unstable in some of the turns and his forward locks were a little skippy, but other than that a good performance that I enjoyed.

I like Tom but didn't much like this dance. I know it was more traditional and all that but it didn't do it for me. He danced well though.
